Over and over

Skill is more than innate talent.  There are hours of practice and more practice.  The daily discipline leads to proficiency and masterful skill.  This little fairy did not just put on skates one day and glided across the ice.  She probably can't count the times she fell and the number of dedicated hours.  She practiced, drilled, and rehearsed and we only see the enchantment of her moving across the ice.

I too seem to be in a repeating pattern, but, I am not getting anywhere, or becoming more proficient at anything.  Today is the monthly Full Moon, also a repeating pattern occurring every twenty eight days.  It is also day One Hundred on the calendar of the year 2017.  Boredom.

  1. I try to pay attention to the phases of the moon twice: for each new and full moon I pull one or two cards. Why? Maybe just to mark these days and create a rhythm in my life. Boredom slips in easily. I hope you can think of something to spice things up

    1. What do you suggest? Since I am in a repeating pattern all my thoughts on what to do are looping back to the same things.

    2. Maybe doing something creative with you hands: crochet. knitting, painting...(Pentacles) since you are already proficient in the Swords area like Laylah says

  2. I think you are proficient as a card reader, writer and almanac keeper :) Maybe you would like another proficiency or maybe you are about to take your existing ones to a new level?

    1. What a lovely compliment. I love cards, the images speak to me on a level. I really like how the images speak to me differently on different days and how they speak differently to most of us. If I get really bored I guess I will put myself into the card and ask the fairy how she likes being a ballerina on ice?

  3. People smarter than I say it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at anything. This doesn't hold true of life lessons, we seem destined to generally be about a half hour in...

    1. I have a pretty good memory, not as good as when I was younger. No way I can commit to 10,000 hours to anything, soooo I guess I won't be an expert in anything. I always said, "I know a little bit about a lot of things."

  4. Find something new to learn perhaps? But it must be fun rather than a chore! :)

    1. The only thing I can think of at the moment is collect sea shells at the sea shore. I guess even that would become boring if done daily.

My thoughts today are with a friend that is undergoing a major surgery, one that impacts her life. Sending healing energy and loving though...
