Why not?

Sometimes we really do need a different perspective. Today I just may listen to someone's advice.

Temptest

Instead of complain and asking "Why Me?" Try to figure out why you are in the midst of a tempest and what actions you are responsible for.

One of the Virtues?

Is patience really a virtue?  Accept or tolerate delays without becoming annoyed. I have found it difficult to wait for others especially when their delays become habitual. "how dare they assume that their time is more valuable than mine," when these occasions happen. I have gotten much better, trying to change my focus on them and their delays, and focus on why I let it bother me so much. The other day I played the waiting game twice and successfully converted my mind set to awareness, and patiently waited for others. Was I virtuous, not really, just more relaxed and contemplative as I waited.

My other thought on this card is, Carolyn be careful today in a situation where I might lose my head.(ha)  If you think about it that is kind of what happens when you get angry while waiting for another. Well a little bit at least.

Uncomfortable

How completely uncomfortable. Do we really need to place ourselves in such a challenging position to achieve a better perspective?  Do we place ourselves in challenging situations to learn something new, or adjust our viewpoint?  I just had a thought!  Am I experiencing such difficulties with my legs, because of a need to change? Am I self-inflicting? I definitely see and experience life a bit differently from the hobbled, hesitant steps I take as I move through my days. Definitely something to ponder, and that it is essence of The Hanged Man.

Inversion

I have tried several forms of inversion therapy and all I get is numb legs. The blood flow becomes limited to the legs when they are extended above the heart, and then they start to tingle from lack of oxygen.  There is a part of me that wants to be 'doing something.' I am not a perpetual motion machine, far from it, but hanging around upside down is not my way of figuring things out, or the way to wait for a revelation.  Maybe that is why The Hanged Man makes me uncomfortable and does not make sense to me.

Now I have to ask myself the question, why then, have I placed myself on a timeout?

Maybe I will sit under the Full Moon and view it from a different perspective tonight.

Suspended

My word for the year is Decide and seven months later I am still in that between place.  Not moving forward nor left or right.  Currently I feel stuck, in suspension.  I keep sorting through choices and possible outcomes and it has kept me immobilized.  Maybe a good thing, maybe not. This year has been in a place of moving and not moving forward.

Observation

Sometimes we get a message that just stands us on our head.  I have had them throughout my life days, some good, some not so good.  Most herald a change of sorts.  The trick is to remain in stillness and recognize them. Some of them we only acknowledge when we take a glance backward. I seem to waiting for....what not sure, hopefully I will recognize it when I see it.  I might need to remember to turn myself around and look at it from an opposite view, this way and then that.

Me or not?

I woke up with a lovely dream of the beach, and warm sunny days.  I saw my Kitty basking in the sunlight watching little newts run along the window and the birds bouncing along the yard looking for little bits of breakfast. From time to time I think about making the move. There is the financial concern, but my biggest fear is the leaving of the sister.  She has pleaded with me not to go for years and since the the tt I wonder what I would do without her if I faced another traumatic event. Also with a major abandonment theme(s) running through my lives, I don't want to cast that sorrow on another.
Sacrifice asks me which is the greater, my need or others?

Head over heels.

I remember as a child climbing trees and then wrapping knees around a branch and hanging upside down.  Was it daring, difficult, or scary?  Did I do it to get a different perspective on the world?  Nah, I did it cause I could, and that was good enough.  Sometimes we evaluate things too much, and definitely give to much validation to what others think.  A lot of times it is good enough to just do it, cause we can.
Now that is a perspective I can get on about.

The Hanged Man

Perspective.  We do not have to sacrifice ourselves to get something in return.  Life is for living and there are good days and not so good days.  Hang around long enough and enjoy and experience both.

The interpretation of the Hanged Man did not inspire me or make any sense.

Equinox

Today marks the Autumnal Equinox, that seemingly equal place of day and light. This Hanged Man card brings this to mind.  Rising up from the dark and and experiencing the light.  Nothing lasts forever.  When we have traveled a path as far as it can go we can become stuck in place or choose to go inside and begin the journey of self discovery.   I do not often draw the Hanged Man, and since today marks a sacred spot in the calendar I did a spread for Fall and The Hanged Man is the end point of the spread, albeit, the outcome of the next three months.  I look forward to these days ahead.  I do not like the winter months, with the teeth chattering cold and expensive electric bills. Still, change allows me to experience, and that is what Life is all about.

Be-cause

I say this to myself sometimes, I am going to do...because.  Because I can.  Sometimes I think of some of those because moments and wish I could still do them. Body and mind changes and, limitations set in.  The other day a juvenile praying mantis visited my home.  It was walking across the deck rail and started its climb up the shepherd hook with a basket of petunias. At the top of crook it just hung there upside down.  I spent ten minutes(probably five) watching her hang there. Why? because she could was all that I could get a sense of.  Getting a different perspective maybe.  Sometimes we do things just because, no special meaning or intent, just because.

Best Laid Plans

Even the best laid plans can often go awry.

Yesterday I drew Justice, and it was placed as card eight in the majors, when usually and correctly I might say would be in position eleven.  So here is card twelve, so it might seem things are in order.  I was fascinated by the Sword of Truth yesterday that made an appearance, and here I believe I am asked to look again at that sword from a different perspective. Last night I was working on my business projection and realized I probably will never really be able to retire, that's the truth of justice yesterday but today I can re-view the situation with a different light and maybe a bit of humor.  Cause we all know, the best laid plans...
I am grateful for today and blessed to be in the here and now and know that tomorrow will take care of tomorrow.

In between

Kuan Yin, the Goddess of mercy and love;  traditional card is the Hanged Man.  Looking at things from a different vantage point.  Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.

My eyes were drawn to the Moon and the Sun in the upper corners of the card.  That in between place between sleeping and waking.  Neither one thing nor the other. Is my reality in the awaken state or the dream state?

Aspirin please

This image is giving me a headache.   All the blood rushing to my head and those antlers.

Maybe this Oak King grew his antlers, for me it made think of the halo I had to wear for four months.  Horrible.  Four screws drilled into my skull to hold my neck immobile as the broken vertebrae healed. I still have the indentations these five years later and oh my how some days they ache and itch.  The weight of carrying that steel around and never more than a few drug induced hours of sleep.
Enough of that.  The only different perspective I want to have today is the back of my eyelids. Thunderstorms, some which were fairly intense, kept me awake most of night.

Stripes a fashion choice

Does the World change when we change the way we view it?  A Wayne Dyer quote comes to mind when I see The Hanged Man - "Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change."
Fair enough I guess and quite often true, but not with tigers.  A tiger can't change his stripes.

There have been lots of times in my life that I have tried to see anothers perspective and to be honest there have been lots of times I could care less what others thought.  My thoughts on some things have softened or maybe even changed over the years and there are many more that run deep and will not change, at least not in this life.
One thing I have learned is it doesn't work trying to change someone, it never works out well when you make another wrong.
I am who I am and I try to remember to let others be who they are; which I must add is quite challenging since as a Capricorn I know that 99.9% of the time I am right.  Oh Well.

America feels like a Three Ring Circus right now.  I am grateful to live in this great Country no matter which way you look at it.
