Make it so

Can I believe it? June 30th, half of the year gone. Seems like we just lifted our cups in cheer for the beginning of the New Year. Nine of Cups, the Wish Card! What do I wish for in the second half of year? I never declared a New Year's resolution, so nothing to beat myself up over for not accomplishing. I would love to boldly march through the next 184 days, and not limp through them as in the first six months literally.  I will still be limping as I go forward, until knee surgeries are completed later this year and the second one in 2023. Optimistically I can accomplish many a thing, even if I have to limp and inch along the way.

What's next

What's next after you achieve your 'hearts desire.' Sometimes we spend days, weeks, months, years chasing that success, that prize, that 'be all' and yes it is a wonderful moment and maybe even longer. Still the moment passes. What's the next pursuit when you got what you wanted? That's our problem, never quite satisfied. Looking towards tomorrow and not living in the moment. Enjoy the now. Be the now. Tomorrow, if it comes, has it's own rewards and sorrows.

Counting my blessings

A good way to start the week.

Happy is as happy does.

If I start to go sideways I am going to remember watching on tv those that have/had to carry what they could in a single suitcase as they left their homes to escape terrorism.

Resolution

A perfect duet on this last day of 2021. A reminder of things that didn't work out and the hope for better days ahead.  To make room for those things and events hoped for I have to let go of old thoughts and feelings.

I have been paying closer attention to those thoughts that don't serve me. When I think of how others are acting or how they have done me wrong, then I am giving my energy to them. I going to work on conditioning that mindset and hopefully keep more of my energy for me, not wasted on clueless others.

Life is Good

A lovely reminder to take the time to appreciate all the wonder and gifts we have in life and yet remember that external influences do not make us happy. My meditation this morning was "Making Self-Care a Priority, doing good for yourself in mind and body. Gratitude for all the bright-blessings we have is a good place to start on Well-Being.

Resources

We all hold different values for those things around us. A field full of grasses and wildflowers is home, contentment, and bliss for the farmer. A drive-by sighting of a field of wildflowers is a wonderment to me. To another it could seem like wasted space and thoughts of commercial development would be a better use of the land.  We may be blessed with many a thing, but if there is no appreciation, what value does it have?  Wishing for more is not the answer, gratitude for all that we have is a better way to fill our cups.

Changeling

I recently read an article about our "broken world." Is it broken? I don't believe so. Sure we are experiencing unprecendented times, but broken?  If one looks at our penguin friend here, she looks adorable, yet her wings no longer help her take aloft. To fly like most of all winged creatures is she broken? NO.  Am I broken because my legs do not work as they once did? My gait is haphazard, limited, and challenged. I can still get around, some days either less or more than others. I remind myself of all the blessing of being able to walk, and do, and go places these last nine years, and hopefully many more years, I just waddle now, like my penguin friend here.  So many blessings, much to be grateful for. I just need to remind myself to remember.

A day in a life

No sense in getting upset about spilt milk. In good times or not so good of times; things have a way of sorting themselves out.

Wishing Well

I found a quarter yesterday; what a lucky girl I am. Today I am going to find me a wishing well and give my quarter to the wishing well in exchange for my wish.  I am going to set my intention and focus on exactly what I hope and wish for. I will not try to shape how the wish will manifest, the Universe and Spirit Realm will take care of that. I have drawn the Wish Card and will not waste such a precious gift and opportunity.

Happy place.

The author states, " if ever an animal were created in the image of joy, the highland cow would be it."  I can think of a few other animals that bring a smile of joy, but if you are from the other side of the pond maybe a highland cow is that animal.  Different things for different people. I can see the cow in my mind's eye out in the field, full of daisies under the lovely Summer Sun.  That would be a happy place for me. Lately I have tried to stop and 'smell the daisies' when a happy thought or moment occurs, no longer taking them for granted. Being in the moment in the moment. Those moments are starting to soften some of the sharp edges within me.

As a child we had a field behind our home that was a pasture for cows. We often ran and played in the field and the stream that ran through it. There is a happy thought that takes me to a happy place. Magic in that.

Granted

Do we need to give ourselves permission to have a good day? Sometimes I think so. Granted. Give yourself a good day. Enjoy the day. I have been repeating that quote that was shared with me "Today I am the youngest I will be for the rest of my life." Today is a good day to have a good day.  Tomorrow too. First things first.

Reminders

The lovely mermaid has opened her chest of jewels and trinkets, reminding herself of the wonder of her life.  She has found and collected lost and forgotten bits of this n that in her
water-world.
Sometimes I need to remind myself of all the good in my life.  Gratitude is the Abracadabra!

On a Clear Day

"On a clear day, rise and look around you and see who you are."
On of my favorite songs.  I sing it quite often, noticeably more when I am feeling on top of the world.  Huh, maybe I should sing it more often when I am feeling down as well, might help.
I have been seeing stories of musicians and children and well just about everyone playing some music for themselves and others during these stay at home days.  A bright blessing for us all.  Hum, strum, sing out-loud.  Good, good medicine.  Feel good prescription if there ever was one.

The Wish

Today in a couple of hours we are having a birthday breakfast with goodbye salutations.  My beloved niece is leaving for Chicago to begin her next adventure in life.  Starting a new job in her field and joining her significant other, I am wishing them the best.  She has been a bright blessing in my life and I have always encouraged her to be her own person and reach for the stars.  There is about nine of us gathering this morning together for her send off celebration and a few days early, birthday, celebration.  I am happy for her.
Also for me, because now I have someone to visit in Chicago and take me out for world-renown pizza.

Water World

Looking deeply into this card and swimming in the depths I hear the song Cool Change, Little River Band.
I was not born in the sign of  Water; Earth and Fire dominate my chart, but the songs of the seas stir my soul.  I have pretty much made up my mind to move South, when is the question.  I kind of gave my word that I stay in the inside sales job for a couple of years, not sure how much of that I will make.  Trouble is I have always pretty much been a woman of my word.  If I leave early will it have caustic effects on my move?  The time does come for a cool change, and not the the coolness of Winter's coldness.

Delight

Watch where your feelings take you...
Sometimes what we feel about a person, place, or thing can lead us into temptation.  Yes I want to feel good, but it should not lead me to isolation trying to hold onto the hum. You know, the little hum of satisfaction, the little song within that gets your feet tapping or your fin flapping.  I want to stay in that place, but have learned trying to hold on it doesn't last and in-fact the tighter the grasp the quicker the joy floats away.
So for today I will enjoy the sunshine and do a little dance.  Tomorrow belongs to tomorrow.

Embrace

Who does not need a hug, an embrace, from time to time?  A week or so back someone went to give me a hug and I tried to withdraw, but no escape.  It got me to thinking of all the times that I have hugged others, whether I was invading their space or not. Since I was injured I don't give as many hugs any more.  One reason is I cannot turn my head and many are much taller than me so if the hugs last more than 1,2,3 I start to get really muffled.  Also since I cannot maneuver as well and my fight switch is damaged, my flight switch kicks on.
I miss them.  We all need to be hugged, held, validated from time to time. I turn to the Light and feel the warmth of the Sun for most of my embraces now.  Thankfully I have that.

Nine of Cups kind of day!

I just cannot decide if the treasure chest has been opened to allow her abundance to be released and thus shared, or opened to allow extra jewels to float into her already abundant cache of treasure?  Either way she holds the key to the chest and the answer close at hand. As do I.  I hold the key to my happiness.  I can share my joy or spend time with myself and revel in my felicity.
Really what does a mermaid need with all those jewels?  I am sure they are meant to be shared, true joy really is best when shared.

This n That

Road Map

The Ace of Earth (Pentacles) jumped from the deck this morning, and I drew the Nine of Cups as the companion card. First I noticed the stark difference in the colors of the two cards. The Ace shrouded in bleak brown, and the Nine awash in delicate hues of aqua.
In my birth chart I remember a astrologer said look for balance.  I have lots of Earth and Fire, and almost no Water.  Maybe that is what draws me to return to the Ocean.

Be that it may

The Cat that ate the canary.

I always smile when I see this card, we know exactly what is going on and don't have to make second guesses.  By nature, the cat will do what the cat will do.  It is all instinct; after obtaining her prize she goes merry along the her way until something else of interest flights in. I am a bit different.  The smugness or delight wears off and then it's like damn, now what?  The canary was the motivator.  "All victories have a flip side" - Siolo Thompson
