It's All Good

Another 'Money Tree' I looked at all the Pentacle Cards in this deck and only the Ace and Ten have Pentacles hanging on the tree. This tree is blooming in the arch of a gateway. Maybe this is the advice I am seeking this week, to wait and watch. I don't always have to be busy or planning what's next, just let things blossom and bloom as they will. Trees, given sunlight, water, and room to grow will do just fine on their own. Me too; basically we are growing things, needing mostly basic sustenance to thrive. I have made adjustments in my life and now patience is needed to find my place and bloom and grow.

Worthy consideration

Living the best life. I wonder if I am? I guess not if I have to ask, not even close.

Brainstorming

;00

Everyone is gathered to brainstorm about the future. What is next, where to live, what do we want to accomplish? Success can be found in the details. The 'good life' mostly requires planning. Yes there are those that seem to be naturally lucky, but mostly, if we want to change or get some place we have to act. Plan to do and plan on doing.  We can come up with all kind of great ideas but we still have to put our plan into action, step through the gateway and get on with getting on.

I have a four hour Zoom Continuing Education class that starts at 9am. I guess for now I am planning on continuing my sales career.

The deep breath

Out of the old, the Earth renews. Things end making way for the new. This couple has taken up residence near the ruins of an old abbey. I wonder if they can feel the thrum of energy that runs deep through the land? The stream of echos of prayers and chants repeated by monks long since gone.  Do we make plans for the beginning of something new when the time comes or react to the end of something when the event occurs? Tens - something has ended and something new will begin.

The rest is incidental

You can create and collect all the external comforts and still be left...wanting. The truth can be come clear that having money, home, companionship and all sorts of stuff and still you may not be happy. So it follows that not having those things really never had the power to make you happy.

Late last night I had a 'sort of' home invasion. Somehow my phone number ended up on a nasty, smutty group text. Most of the numbers began with a area code of 512 and mine is a 502, so a possible miss-type. I finally worked on blocking most of the numbers and the assault pretty much ceased, and still I was left unsettled and a bit irked in my happy little home with Kitty.

Consistent

'The more things change, the more they stay the same.' Many things remain consistent even as change happens. The many things we are or do are learned early on in life. Some of those ideas, habits, intentions are good and some not so much. We each will add to the generational stories as they pass on down.  Good, bad, or indifferent with each telling we must hold onto the magic of Life. The wonder of the World around us. The gifts received. Leaning on the left side of the arched entry is a 'Magic Wand' reminding us we are gifted with so much, if only we will see.

The Return

This Ten of Pentacles reminds me of pictures viewed of celebrating the end of WWII. Ticker-tape parades, dancing and celebrating in the streets, joy and wonder that comes with success and the relief experienced at the return of loved ones and the end of the threat from a evil despot. How different we have been during the war on covid. Fear mongering, protests, and outrage at perceived infringements of our rights, has our country lingering in the shadows and on edge in civil unrest. We did not do right by ourselves and each other during this battle. We never really came together and faced the pandemic enemy with a united front. Hopefully we can put most of this behind us and come together and celebrate each other and the opportunities that tomorrow holds.  Here is to hope! A true Ten of Pentacles celebration.

Allegory

In the last couple of weeks I have been watching 'Boston Legal' a tv show that was on 2005-2009. Never watched then, but the show is streaming on Prime and I have time during these covid-winter days. Yesterday one of the episodes was based on a Katrina incident and in the closing argument, the lawyer, Alan Shore, stated that a friend of his while fleeing New Orleans in the aftermath of the hurricane, saw a dead man lying on side of road and was being eaten by an alligator. I did not find an article on the web specifically mentioning that, but it could have and probably did happen. The image sticks with me. What does an alligator eating a human have to do with the Ten of Pentacles, beats me? The artistry of this deck is beautiful, but not much to do with the tarot. Still an alligator allegory yesterday and a draw of one today is too much of a coincidence to let pass.

Click my heels

After extricating myself from the tangled mess I got myself into, portrayed in yesterday's Eight of Swords, I am home to rest and recover. I may not have the shiny castle or even a lovely cottage by a pond, but what I have is mine. Well, mine and Kitty's. I am grateful for home. I think even more so in these coming days when we will all go in lockdown again and the coming months of winter.  Time to finish preparing for the months ahead, books, and food, and chocolate and tp. A hair cut before lockdown and also treats for Kitty.

Legacy

This Ten of Pentacles makes me feel nostalgic about days of past. I never had children but enjoyed days with niece and nephews. Not of all them; distance, whether miles or differences exempted me from participating in some of their lives. Now they are all on their own paths and I wonder if they carry a bit of me with them? Maybe, maybe not, but I carry them with me as I continue on.

Clap your hands

"When your happy and you know, then your face will surely show it, when your happy and you know it, clap your hands."
Take a moment and really appreciate all that you have.  Then share that appreciation.  When we acknowledge all the good, everything seems to line up and the world is a more friendly place.
A little piece of my puzzle fell into place in the last few days, bringing with it with it some ease and comfort. Hopefully I can sit back and relax a bit and let Life be.

Way back when

This is where it begins, our views on the world.  This is where our parents shape who we become and what we will think, do, and say.  Some of the information is great, some not so much, and some, old out-dated perceptions, passed down generation to generation.

Ten of Pentacles.
Instead of searching for something more; enjoy what is stacked right in front of you.  The Yellow Brick Road.  Sure why not? Remember the wisdom after the venture,  "there's no place like home."

Count your blessings

Reminds me to take a moment and count all the good and positive in my life.
Life is neither good or bad, it's just Life. Our reactions determines the experience.  Which brings to mind when I say to others that "crap-that lousy luck that sticks to us and eventually lifts and lands someone where else," is really us accepting that we can't control everything and when we release the need it moves on.
Can't sit in the garden today because it is raining. But...I volunteer at hospital today, maybe I will take a minute and stop on the fourth floor and look at the new babies.

Home

Be it ever so humble.

Home lovely.  I was thinking on the word Home with the word OM within; OM the sound of the Universe, it's beginning middle, and end.  There is no place like H'om'e. I thought of this card coming home.  There I am sitting with the two dogs and my sister and her husband and family coming home from vacation.  I am oh so happy to be back in my home.  I am also very grateful for family.
I never before noticed that Pamela Coleman Smith's iconic glyph is in the upper right hand corner. In most of the cards it is placed near or at the bottom right. Shuffling through the cards I noticed several other cards that deviate from that position, none but the Ten of Pentacles is placed above. The ten features a pretty busy theme, still it might of been placed on the hindquarters of the unsuspecting pup.
Anyway, I am thankful for my own place.  Thankful for the people who choose me to be their representative when buying their home, which allows me to live in mine.

Be it ever so humble

Ollie Ollie Oxen Free

When I was a little girl we used to play hide and go seek, and when the seeker gave up we used to call "Ollie Ollie come in free"  although the original was 'oxen free' as above.  We played hide and seek between our yard and the neighbor's across the street.  Usually involved seven or eight of us, sometimes a couple more.  Climbing the trees was not an allowed hiding place, too difficult in the dark for the seeker to find you.  Home base was safety.  Even today home is the safe place.  There have been a few days when I come home I say out-loud "Ollie Ollie Carolyn's home free."  There is no place like home.  Familiar, comfort, safety, protection.
Thank goodness for home.  Be it ever so humble there is no place like home.  Go ahead click your heels together...

Suitable environment

I drew the Ace of Wands again today, emergence.  I decided to place the card back in the deck and reshuffle asking where this Ace was directing me, where to direct all this fire energy that is coming to me and at me?  After the shuffle I went looking for the Ace and  the card immediately following, the Ten of Earth/Pentacles.

Interesting, Ten being a higher octave than One/Ace.  Mostly though I felt like a snake would be more comfortable in the forest, a natural habitat; that is unless you were a water snake.
The forest with all it's lovely trees, lots of old growth, still, the forest is ever changing.  The foreground tree stump show new growth.  All animals and things complete their cycle of life and new life takes it place, ever changing.  Maybe that is the message of the Ace of Fire/Wands these last two days.  I am making a switch in my sales career moving from outside sales to inside sales.  Something new from the old ways.  A new path to follow and the energy to take it.

Legacy

Last night I started reading the book STILL ALICE by Lisa Genova.  The story begins with the introduction to a Harvard professor, Alice, and in short order she begins to have episodes of memory impairment.  It doesn't take long for the diagnosis and increasing frequency of lost blocks of her memory that the disease of Alzheimer's begins to make a huge impact on her life.  I put the book aside to finish later and pondered on everyone's immediate denial, including Alice's.  She wants to continue on as long as she can, which she really can't.  Wouldn't it better serve her and all her family to spend as much time together?   I tried to stop and think about my reaction given the same diagnosis.  Couldn't.  I wonder sometimes what is it, that I will leave behind?
