Waiting game. The other day, Sunday, I was told to look for a message. Today this card hints at the same. Sitting here for a bit trying to connect with the card, nothing. When told to look for a sign, a message, you can get rooted just waiting, and Life is anything but waiting. It goes on. You can miss opportunities while waiting for a sign. I believe in signs, but care is needed not to manufacture something. Search the skies?  Cloud gazing is time better spent and if something comes, then yes, I will pay attention.

There are days I wish I knew what the future holds, but then that takes out the elements of decision making, surprises, consequences. Not all days are sunshine, blue skies, and happy go lucky; there are enough though to enjoy the journey. Tomorrow is not promised so I will just see where the day takes me.

Yesterday afternoon I went to a Crystal Bowl Meditation for the Summer Solstice. On my return home I spotted two children, a little girl about 4 and her brother maybe 6, out in their home's driveway, apparently washing Daddy's car, possibly for a Father's Day gift. Both down to just their shorts with more soap on them then on the vehicle and the girl hosing her brother and not the car. I laughed with them in their joy as I drove by.  As I pulled in my driveway just around the corner, I gave myself over to a moment of reflection, back to the little girl I once was, playing in her backyard on a warm first day of Summer; walking barefoot through the grass, basking in the sunshine. I need to get back to that, restore me to my core self.

Transported to dreamland. A place of illusion and fantasy. Nowhere else would one ride a panda through a garden of lanterns. The Eight of Wands takes us to places, even in our dreams.

When everything points you in one direction, best to travel that path.  Surrender and trust the process, I need to keep reminding myself of that truthism. The Eight of Wands can be about something incoming. If I get a message today, sure bet I am going to listen and follow through.

Are these wands incoming or outgoing?
Do the thoughts, words, and actions return to us?  If so we best pay close attention to those thoughts, words, and actions.
I had three impressions from this Eight of Wands today.
Incoming. Outgoing. Short end of the stick.
If something comes along today, I best be careful of the choice I make so I don't draw the short stick.  Or maybe the short stick is the one to choose?
I am in a wait and see mode.

I cannot heal in the same environment that I became unwell in.

These two cards jumped from the deck this morning, so I believe they have something to say to me.  What I am not sure of yet.  They are representative of difference ends of the spectrum.  One young and confident and the other not, is lost and adrift. 
I am going to think on them through-out my day and let me talk to me about it.

From here to there

A hundred or so years ago, most people barely traveled more than forty miles for home.  Cars and trains replaced getting there on your own two feet or by horse.  When I was seriously injured seven and a half years ago, I was told by those guys in white coats I would never drive again and that was after my legs regained feeling and movement and my eye site returned.  I am so very grateful for the extra days, by foot, by car, by plane; with friends, family, and under my own volition.  Most everyday I am grateful to have my mobility.  Things change as they will, but I will continue moving until I can't.  Not much cha-cha left, but a good deal of can-can keeps me going.

June seemed to be a month that drifted by; mostly I think because I was not feeling well for three weeks of it.  Hopefully this heralds a change in tempo for me.  A quicker pace.  Now not too quick, something that might brings the heart beat up just a bit. A little fun in the sun, some dance time, good news. There is a Solar Eclipse in the World on July 2, day of the New Moon.  Looking for a quick peek from the Universe for some news.

Today this Eight of Wands feels like a guidepost.  Follow the yellow lines to reach Oz.  Pinpoint to where I need to head to.  With all the golden rays, a promise of something wonderful.  Kind of like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. 
A message?  Don't wait for it to come to you, get out there and find what you are searching/waiting for? Read the signs and look at the clues that are marked out for me. Kind of like Dorothy on the yellow-bricked road, as she starts her journey with toe to heal, leaving Munchin Land.

Multitasking

I am not much of a multitasker any more.  A lot of times I could juggle eight or more things at time, get them all done with few or no mistakes. Not anymore.  I wonder is it a symptom of getting older? The answer is yes. Is the underlying reason because with age comes wisdom and realizing we don't need to do everything at one time, or with age our mind slows down and we just don't have the ability to do more than a few things at a time? Maybe a bit of both.   These days lists are my friends.  And the lists are on my desk, notes on the kitchen table, and with technology, notes on my phone; plus reminders from others to remember them and their needs and wants.  Now though, I take them one thing at a time, mostly they all got done, just takes a little more time.
Wonder what new thing will be added to my list today?

Crazy Eights

Crepuscular Rays.

Looks like train tracks.  Some fast flowing information. Yesterday drew the Eight of Pentacles today the Eight of Wands.  Taking the finished product out into the world. Moving forward is the message I am receiving.  Yesterday I finally made my mind up about something that I have left hanging.  The eights give me the nod to move on forward.  Tried one thing, didn't work, move on and allow something else an opportunity.  Opportunity, I like that.  Train tracks toward those rays of hope and opportunity.

It also thought it was a magical Eight of Wands. 
I need a little magic today.  My washing machine stopped with a full tub of water.  Heck.  Off to find a new set.  Happy Saturday.

There is a reason for most everything

This card explains why it is so hard to get rid of dandelions.  The Fairies are constantly harvesting them and spreading seeds.  What some see as weeds, the fairies know them as bouquets for bumblebees. 
Let the dandelions be what they will be and take care of the 7 other things that are on my list of 'To Do'
The booklet mentions this as a card of multi-tasking, successful multitasking.  It all gets done eventually.

I am absolutely sure there are faster modes of travel than a Giant Panda, but what fun.  Okay it is only a bit of whimsy, if one was ever caught riding one, every animal rights group would cry out in righteous indignation, besides that fact that I don't think the Panda would allow it.  The Eight of Fire(Wands) is about movement or a message arriving.  Maybe travel.  For today I will look for a message from some unusual delivery mode.

Best use of information and time

This local wand maker received an order for eight wands.  So busy and focused, she is not paying attention to the magic surrounding her in the woodlands.  All those little fairy lites dancing on the trees.
Reminds me not to get so wrapped up in my work that I forget all the other wonderful things surrounding me.
