The mirror has two faces

An old childhood trauma has resurfaced in my awareness; something I thought I had have forgiven and reframed in my memories. A somewhat casual remark the other day by a family member triggered the awareness that the incident indeed is not forgotten, or reframed, or released. It still hurts and is still, these fifty-seven years later upsetting.  The balance I thought I had secured within me is out of kilter. The mirror of my awareness has two faces.

If all the Aces are a gift - new prosperity, a brilliant thought, uplifting emotion, or a burst of energy. the Twos then give us the dilemma faced about what to do with the newly presented opportunity.  The good becomes problematic. Say it ain't so! It is.  The Two of Pentacles  becomes a balancing act. Take care of this and let that slide, at least for a bit. A choice for which task or option is the one to focus one.  This or That?

Trial by error. Keeping two projects going at a time is challenging. We all do it from time to time. Like a juggling act. Focus on the ball at hand as you wait for the other in the air to return. Back and forth. Here and there. Up and down. This and That.  Do this, then do that.  No keeping it up for long, just long enough to get done what needs to be done.

Fractured Focus.  It is challenging to keep two things going at the same time. We can do it for a short interim, but not long term. One or both will suffer neglect.  Two things going all the time will keep us out of balance and that is evident in our world, our daily-life, now more than ever. There comes a point when keeping it all checked and balanced is tedious and exhausting.  Change is needed. Comparison shopping

Appearances can be deceiving.  What looks exactly like something else, can appear completely different from another's view.
The 'Eye of the Beholder' type of thing.
I am reminded by the show Star Trek, the original series, and the episode of "Let That Be Your Last Battlefied." 
Two individuals that appeared the same to the crew of the Enterprise but were so vastly different to each other and being the last of each of their kind, they could not live while the other existed.  Both had black and white faces, the glitch is they were on opposite sides, white and black, and  black and white. We can get hung up on such insignificant differences.
Spend one, save the other.  Spend both. Save both and go have a cup of tea and count your blessings. 

Precarious Balance

The arm appears seems to be in a cybernetic process. Do we change or adapt to earn the coins that we get paid?
Cybernetics: the science of communication and automatic control systems in both machines and living things.
Increasingly with my work I do not find sustenance, enjoyment, nor disappointment and boredom.  I am becoming a automaton.  Just filling in the blanks, marking time.
It is time to release myself and take the message of yesterday's Page, and grab a hold of something new and go with that.  Better than continuing this transformation.

Balancing Act

Some days it is all we can do to stay in the game.

This or that?  Choices, choices, choices.  I have vacated my life for a few days but guess what? it followed me.  Where-ever you go, there you are.  I had intended to weigh my options, but I find I don't want to think about any of it, maybe I will just go back to bed and take a mid morning nap.  I will keep juggling I guess, until something falls to the wayside and goes splat.  I will have my answer then of what to proceed with.

Juggling Act

The Two of Pentacles is always a pretty straightforward card.  Juggling two things at a time, or maybe two choices to consider.  My mind started to wander just now and maybe this princess is a selkie.  The time has come for her to choose to stay on dry land or return to the sea in the background.
Today I may be faced with choice, each with benefits and drawbacks, and the advice this card offers is to weigh both options before choosing.

Pennies from heaven

Are there truths about ups and downs?  What goes up must come down.  How is it that some people seem to be more lucky or live in harmony with the world around them than others?  Is there a tally sheet that the Universe has?

Age old questions that most of us think about and ask ourselves from time to time.  Some of the 'teachers' tell us that we are here to just enjoy ourselves, to immerse ourselves in our humanism.  Kind of hard for people who don't have two pennies to rub together.
Sometimes I get in the mindset of lack and then I look around and see how much I have and how blessed I am.  Nope not a millionaire maybe closer to a hundredaire since accident but I do really well, besides you can't take it with you.
That reminds me; collecting pennies for Unicef when I was a little girl.  Usually around Halloween we got those little white cards with slots to load and line up pennies for the poor.  Now instead of giving pennies away I collect them off the streets, parking lots, and sidewalks. All for the elusive good luck that I keep looking for.

I am grateful for loose change.  I have some I am going to roll up today and treat myself to a new blouse.  Thank you very much for those tossed pennies.
