Turned Away

This card is titled Stillness and like Equanimity the person in the card is turned away from me. Why?  Is this part and parcel of meditation to become separate from others and in that distance find ourselves?

I have noticed on more than several occasions of pictures of people in profile with their backs turned from the camera.  Are they looking for something or making a statement to World through the camera lens?  Someone had to be with them to take such a picture, so they are not totally identified with 'aloneness.'  It is a declaration of their loneliness? invisibility?  disconnect?

               ISOLATION
Release me Seclusion
Like you've declined to do before
You've confined me to myself
Left me in isolation
Hidden me in plain sight.

  1. we are on the same page this morning. Profile images tell a lot about people, we should apply for a grant to do a study. Get you out of that car, doing what you do so well.

    1. My days in the car are getting more limited. I have a kink in my back from turning this way and that since I can't swivel my head. You are super intuitive what would I be good at if not real estate sales?

    2. Good call - visual methods vital for making sense of the contemporary world and hardly any academics are doing it still fewer any good at it...

    3. Carolyn - 'in answer to your question 'what would I be good at?' This! Write a book (with Sharyn?) on tarot imagery. It would be splendid. Come on!!!!!

  2. Maybe the person (in the photo) feels lonely and has no idea there is a beating heart close by.

    1. Someone is behind that photo; hopefully we know someone is there for us. Even on my loneliest days I remember how many showed up to be of assistance when I injured and I know someone will always be there.

Be Well

My thoughts today are with a friend that is undergoing a major surgery, one that impacts her life. Sending healing energy and loving though...
