Communication

"To effectively communicate, we must realize that we are all different in the way we perceive the world and use this understanding as a guide to our communication with others." -Tony Robbins

I remember these.  I even made some of these communication devices when I was a child.  I wonder if children these days even know what they are.  Most likely not.  I see small children on cell phones and I wonder with what and how their children will communicate in a few decades.  The estimates are about only one-fifth of American households have land-line phones and most belong to the aging segment of the population.
The times they are a changing.

  1. I do still have a landline phone but mostly because it is cheaper for my mother and husband who call me every day.
I have recentely discovered WhatsAapp. This way I can have a conversation with both my girls at the same time

    1. They really push them with the cable companies. And AT+T wants to basically get out the business so they don't have to take care of all the lines connecting households that don't use them .

  2. I was just wishing I could text anywhere in the world with no added charges. Seems like if we can Skype anywhere we should be able to text. I must get my herd of pet CEO's together and put in a request.

    1. I resisted texting for as long as possible, thinking it is so impersonal and it is, and I guess that is why so many mostly use their phones for texting. Another hundred generations and we won't have vocal chords.

  3. Funniest thing with a phone I ever saw was a tween trying to figure out how to use a rotary phone. :)

  4. I wish the unlimited free texts I get every month (I use about five) could be converted to a sensible amount of internet time.

My aunt gave me a nudge to start using Instagram so we can communicate as she travels northern Europe. I'm glad she did.
