Practice makes perfect

Very few are born endowed, gifted with extraordinary talent or genius.  Even those that are have to practice and define their skill set.  The gift I have is the gift of gab, makes me perfect for sales and yet after being a sales person for so many years it has long since lost any glamour for me. I see many new faces in the field all afire with wide eyed enthusiasm for their new careers and I wonder how long before it wears on them and then I wonder about those really gifted ones if this too becomes an issue.  Do our careers become just another way to put money on our tree?

  1. Good question, the few people I know with born talents don't use them for money. Not good enough I guess. Or over qualified. I'd like to think those talents feed our heart and spirit outside of moneygrubbing?
We went to costco Sunday and I thought how really good you would be at being a sample lady. You'd have testers clearing out the stock rather than just getting some grub as they pass by. :)

    1. About 10 years ago I volunteered at Senior Games that were held in Louisville. The event planner offered me a job of my gift of gab, I had to pass; it was the ole frying pan and into the fire kind of thing.

  2. Your post reminds me of a few of my artist friends. They love to create, until they have to crank it out like a factory. The joy gets lost in that kind of work.

Be Well

My thoughts today are with a friend that is undergoing a major surgery, one that impacts her life. Sending healing energy and loving though...
