What you see

First Impressions

This card draws to mind all those car commercials we see on television.  Those cars are driving all over the place; through snow, rain, sleet, across muddy roads and fields and yet they don't have a speck of dirt on them.  Amazing.  This Charioteer and her team of horses are the same.  Not one thing out of place.  No dirt or mud on any of them.  Amazing.
First impressions are quick to form. Speculated at less than a second, first impression will influence how others treat us.  I am very aware of this.  Since my trauma my gait is slow and measured, yes older age has contributed to this, but not as nearly as much as some nerve damage.  More often than not, I am gauged on my slowed and some what unbalanced stride.  Aged and broken is what some see and then judge my ability on that first glance.  Can't change it so I try to do the best with what I have.
I think this morning I will go get my car washed, get my chariot cleaned and spiffy for my afternoon appointment.  That will help make a good first impression.

  1. Hopefully those with common sense will judge you by your expertise in the field of real estate and not by any externals. Hope you have a pleasant and productive day!

    1. I wish. Common sense does not usually override first impressions. I hope we both have a marvelous day.

    1. I have to laugh at car images. When the Weather Channel did a segment on the tornado in 2012, the one that got me, they had the actress of me driving a Lexus. That was hoot. I only look at luxury cars on tv.

    1. Thank you. I don't let it worry me as much as I did several years ago when I returned to work. Then I saw my reality in their eyes. Still most of the time everybody is so involved with their phones they don't really see me, or anyone, for that matter.

  4. We have a fair few young peacocks in our local estate agents. Doesn't fill me with trust. Give me someone experienced and professional any day.
