Birth-right

a particular right or possession or privilege one has from birth.

When I first drew this card, I thought of a line in The United States Constitution, 'certain unalienable rights'.
This newly born fairy coming from royalty will enjoy more rights and privilege than others I am sure, especially since the babe is holding a magic wand.  Are we all born with a magic wand, but have it taken from us immediately so we conform to 'our place' in society?  I also wonder about the heart shaped locket, different than the traditional nod to Venus on most Empress cards, and it is not securing the golden chest.  What's up with that?  Maybe cause Venus is Retrograde currently.
I was reading something on the internet when I first signed in and I saw that today, March 8th, is International Women's Day.  I didn't even know that women had an international day?

  1. there is a book called Heart Shaped Box. A favorite but my mind is born of the funny people.
On the other hand I've not once noticed the necklace on the Empress.

  2. One day for women and 364 for men? That we need a dedicated day says it all...one the other hand hierarchies between women don't help.

  3. I heard the movement this year is asking women not to go to work that day or buy anything.

    1. I like that! Perhaps we should have a women's month so the world knows our contribution by its absence...

Be Well

My thoughts today are with a friend that is undergoing a major surgery, one that impacts her life. Sending healing energy and loving though...
