The Year of Less

"how I stopped shopping, gave away my belongings, and discovered life is worth more than anything you can buy in a store. " - Cait Flanders - quote and name of book as post title

The UNIVERSE, The World card.  When it all is said and done; has it all been said and done?  Most tarot teachers reason that the Universe is a place or a thing  done to it's completion and then we start again as The Fool.  Maybe, but I don't want to do the same thing over and over.
I recently have decided not to buy one more self-help book.  It has all been said and then re-said and stated. Then this morning in a Hay House email there is an offering to buy the ebook "The Year of Less" for a $1.99, so okay one more book.  After reading dozens of books on healing, new age, self discovery, this n that and an article of two on quantum physics, I cannot see any major difference in the Me of Me.  I am going to put these books down and look out the the window or sit on a park bench more and study the nature of things and me from my own point of view.  Which is probably the lesson of the Universe card.

    1. I have been doing some clutter clearing, but lately there are days that I want to strip away everything and then fill it back with just a few simple pieces.

  2. same deck this week.
My first self-help-knowing book was Simple Abundance. I worked through that book one day at a time and it made a huge difference in my life.
Since that time I've found books that were much more grounded (Julia Cameron's for instance) and the SB author came out that when she was writing that book her own life was a train wreck...take what I want and leave the rest.

    1. I just tried reading two books that were recommended and couldn't get through either of them pass the second chapter. Blah Blah Blah. I notice recently a lot of authors are quoting other authors for validation. Heck might as well read the quoted work.

  3. My priority for this year is to go deep rather than wide. I can get caught up in learning and exploring and forget to apply what I'm learning, especially with commitment.

    1. My word for the year is Unburden. I have done some off loading but 3months of 2018 have whizzed by, at this rate my family will have to unburden the stuff when I have left the Planet. Time to get more serious.

Be Well

My thoughts today are with a friend that is undergoing a major surgery, one that impacts her life. Sending healing energy and loving though...
