Everyone has a story

 

I have been sitting with this King of Pentacles for a bit this morning and I just cannot decide to be happy or sad for him. He has succeeded but at what cost?  Years back he made his plans and then worked them. Worked hard. There were losses along with the gains, and he maintained his focus. Still, you can see the pain etched on his face from the sacrifices he made. Long days and nights of hard work. How much did he miss along the way? Do we congratulate him or commiserate with him? I don't think he would welcome either. He did what he had to do, he worked. Sometimes the best we can do for another is listen to their story. We just might find an answer in their words.

    I think listening to another's story is what helps us connect. Even if the setting and characters are different, the feelings we can identify with.
