Attitude

Cast off the shroud of insecurity and do what you want to do. Is this temptation, a devil may care attitude?  A trait of Capricorn is discipline, a rule follower? And that may be true, so for as that many cappies have self-confidence issues.  They measure their steps in the imprints along the path left by others. It is when they stop in those tracks, hearing the music of their soul that people wander, 'what in the devil got into them' ?

I can no longer follow the path, my gait has changed. My stride has changed and I can no longer place my feet along previous steps.  I can continue to bemoan this or choose to accept the difference and forge a new path. Maybe a bit of devil may care attitude is exactly what is called for.

It's everywhere

SUGAR. Sugar is my devil. I seem bound to it. I am a sugar addict.  I read the information on sugar, I hear all the warnings, but yet I am still tied to my seemingly need for it.  Christmas has come and gone and I look at the supply of this readily available drug that I have at hand and the gifts of sugar wrapped in various forms and designs. Will this be the year I can gift myself the freedom from sugar? Do I have the courage to finally face my devil?

Temptation

Sugar is the devil in my life.  So many challenges met and yet sugar still has control of me in my life.  Choices.  Candy or carrots?  I like both, candy is more convenient. Get a little buzz with candy.  It doesn't last, and that's the hitch.  Some leads to more.  During these weeks in quarantine my sugar consumption has amped up.
What binds me to my sugar devil? I know all the reasons why sugar is my comfort go to.  Evidently I am deluding myself somewhere along the line if chocolate is always on my list of must haves.

Candle in the dark?

When you wake deep in the night and decide to do a draw to find what might be the cause of your restlessness and worry.  Well this draw brought no comfort, in fact sleep was evasive the rest of the night.  My first thought was whoa, how much darkness! and then, the theme of bondage became the second variant that was noticeable.  Almost too dark to work my way through, but I must.

What ifs

Tinnitus, the incessant, mostly constant, high-pitched whine or ringing in my middle ear.  Suffered from it for years. Some days it almost overwhelming. This card of the Devil makes me think of it and the what 'ifs' in my life. The nagging worrying of things not done, done incorrectly, and many more misgivings.  Right left? Two steps forward, one back? This that?  On and on it can go.
That's what I think tinnitus is; worry, self-doubt, and inner criticisms.

That is all

That's all I got.  I drew Bindweed/Devil and so I asked and this answer.  What am I hanging onto that has no use or purpose.  Algebra is the answer for today.

WTH2

Now the Devil after the Tower?  Temptation after the Lightning bolt.  Not a encouraging way to begin the new year.  And I am not going to sit around listening to a bunch of magpies chattering at me.  To heck with this, I can reach down untangle the vines and be on my way.  No sitting around waiting for something to happen.  The happening is me getting up and getting on my way.

That now This

Ego, traditional card, The Devil.  Since I really don't believe in the Devil, Ego can be a good substitute. Ego gone wild instead of the Devil made me do it.  So much negative connotations associated with The Ego. Ego is a good thing, it is when it consumes that issues arise.  Without ego how can we express ourselves?  If we are all spirit/soul entities, then Ego allows us to express individuality. To experience the World and Life from different vantage points.  And like all good things Ego can be warped, misshapen, out of control.  Sometimes like these fairies, we must review who and what we are and cast aside that does not work or no longer useful.  Good day to do that with this being the Winter Solstice.

Temptation

The higher octave of the fives, discord on a larger scale.  Yesterday I met my friend from the office that I hold my license at, for brunch. The company where I was working part-time inside sales for the last year, the one that drove me to bouts of anger and misery.  Gone now for three weeks, they want me back.  Yes, brunch was friends' for a few hours of conversation, but also to make a offer.  Did I encourage a bit, maybe, who doesn't like the feel of a bit of self importance.  Tempting, but why wait till it's too late.  I know the offer of inside sales is better for my nerve-damaged legs, but where will my legs take me if my mind is in the shadow areas?

Leave it till later

I am not getting anywhere with these two.  In the Devil card it almost looks like vapors forming the two people, so maybe what we speak can become who we are; makes sense.  Not sure about that Star rising up from the murky depths- Hope springs eternal.
Release after bondage?
Balance? Realignment? Dark and Light?
Lived and Rats(backward spelling)?
Something to think on today.

Drawing down

The Devil. Fascinating really. Today I see so many of the trumps of the major arcana within The Devil. Most surprisingly I see The Magician in a distorted mirrored version.  I drew the Magician yesterday and there are echos of him in the Devil. Right arm raised and left down. The real expose' I see today is the broken infinity sign above the Devil.  Not horns, a usual expression of the Devil, but the incomplete weave of the infinity sign; a ourobouros unbound.
I have had an interesting mix of Majors and minors this week, beginning with The Hermit and here The Devil.
Last night I sat under the Full Moon and felt that I had drawn down some of her ethereal light into me.  Magic or The Devil's work?

Nefarious

Happening upon these two sketchy characters would you take a second look or give them a wide berth?  Most people can't help but take the second look, which usually leads to trouble.  Sometimes the rubber-neckers on the highway cause much more trouble than the original incident, and oh there are so many more examples.  For me today if I happen to cross paths with some nefarious character(s) I will just move along and not take a second look; sure to be on the evening news later anyway.  No way I am going to say "the devil made me do it" when I have been warned.

Refusal

Shut off the noise.  I am working on tuning out the constant chatter that goes on in my head.  This morning I received a text from a client/friend that irritated me.  His assumption that I will take care of just about anything finally hit the saturation point.  Enough I say.  I had a internal debate for about ten minutes and finally said what I had to say in a short text.
I should of said something sooner instead the one chirping voice became many more.  Well we all shoulda coulda.. I refuse to keep playing the should have game.  Enough.

EGO

Traditional card - The Devil

Ego, we all need one, just one that is not out of control. The one fairy, has scrolls of Fear and Blame and the other the tablet of Guilt.  Those are the driving forces of Ego out of whack.  I tell myself I pretty much keep my wild ego-self in check and then I find myself berating a dumb driver who cuts me off, tell myself constantly that I know more than others I work with, and question the sanity of many.  Guess "The Devil made me do it!"   No it's me.  As long as I point my finger at others the less time there is less time for me to look in the mirror and point my finger at me.

In the Details

Better the devil you know than the devil you don't

What a timely card for me today.  Later today I will be tested by clients that are dissatisfied with some portion of an up coming sale.  I gave them the most timely and appropriate information and they choose to ignore that advice which has now proven to be correct.  They want to act like victims and place their incorrect decision at my feet.  Sorry, not going to happen.  I have no sympathy left in me for the ones that want to attack, blame, and criticize instead of owning up to their part in
their decision.
The word lie is within the word devil.

Tempting

Why ask why?

It appears that this fallen angel chose earthly goodies over the etheral life.  She doesn't appear to be wicked or rebellious, just curious about a different lifestyle.  Does that make it wrong?   I think we get many choices in many lives to figure it all out.  Which makes me think of the saying "the devil is in the details."  Life is what we make of it, whether there is one or many.  Doesn't make us wicked when we are different.
Chocolate is my Temptation.
These days of winter make me tempted to pack it all in and move South.

Iconic

I wonder how people can really see this as a definitive expression of The Devil.

I have mentioned before and will again.  Devil spelled backwards is Lived, such a wonderful anagram.

An excerpt from Rachel Pollacks SEVENTY EIGHT DEGREES OF WISDOM pertaining to The Devil - "The Devil's power rests in the illusion that nothing else exists.  In a great many situations, from political oppression to the personal misery of a bad family life, people only become consciously unhappy when they realize that life holds other alternatives."
So, the loose chains we bind ourselves with are our own making.
A life not 'lived' is a 'devil' of a thing.

trick or treat

Such an iconic figure, The Devil.   So many things and situations attributed to the symbolism. Restrictions, limitations, excuses, weakness, evil, debauchery.  I was introduced to the devil in my youth through my Catholic upbringing.  He holds no sway with me now.

When I see the word devil I automatically think of the word reversed, lived.  I wonder is that how this figure was named.  Someone sometime back in history thought how can we control the masses?  Through mystification of course and who or what can we scare them with to keep them from living their own lives.  Living - lived - devil.  Within the word devil is lie and lied.  The devil is a lie.
We can also find vile, evil, veil, vie, live and die.
He didn't make a mess of it, he didn't make me do it,  he isn't responsible for the details, and the disguise he supposedly wears is just us being human.  So we can make a mess of things, doesn't make us bad.

I am grateful for my early education.  Heaven and Hell played a big part of the those years of study.  Now I choose.
