Take time to make time

Here is to a life fairly well lived, at least what I know of it. A friend's husband has passed and even though at first I did not care much for him, he was afflicted with typical king arrogance, he grew on me and I came to like him very much. It reminds me yet again that time is limited and to live and do the best that we can. I raise my cup in yet another goodbye.

Today is the youngest I will be for the rest of my life.

Book-ends

I started week with the Queen of Cups and ending with the King of Cups. I am going to ponder on this today, since I have to rush out and view a home with a client. I really need to think on this and how I feel about continuing working in direct sales. To be honest I need a break from it all and was hoping to take the Summer off and from there easing my way out completely. There is always a reason to show...just one more. But how do I feel about? The Queen started my week with asking how do I feel about the whole process and The King advises to set boundaries and really listen to my feelings as to what is best for me.

Inconsistency

Staring at the bottom of my empty cup is not going to make it fill up with anything anytime soon.  In addition, filling it up with just any ole thing is not going to be satisfactory either. Today feels more like a Five of Cups moment. I am going through that transition period of lingering with what was and not turning to view what could be. Actually I have been lingering at this moment for quite awhile and really beginning to get bored with it and myself. Bored enough is the question? I think the King would say "enough with this indecision, get on with it" but the 'it' is the question.

Delegate

Action or inaction is our choice to make.  Kingy boy here had to work his way up the ranks to his throne. His decisive actions prevailed and now he can sit back and enjoy himself while others pick up the work and carry-on. Celebrate your successes. Learn what you can from what didn't work and make changes. Hopefully we can all sit back and enjoy the 'fruit or our labors.'

Pat on the back

I hope that whatever this King has to say to me is good, and wise, and compassionate counsel.  Otherwise I am in no mood to listen to do this don't do that.  How about a nice pat on the back.

Emotional Wisdom

Wise emotional counsel from heart-centered wisdom.  It takes awhile to get here. I am in that iffy place of some fear-based responses.  What the heart feels the mind thinks on. What the mind thinks on the heart feels.  The goal is to keep them in sync.

Shapeshifter

This King of Cups has left the throne room and transfigured himself in a salmon, not to deceive; to learn. Listening to all the stories and requests becomes a burden of decisions made with no basis. To walk in one shoes, or in this case to experience the day to day issues; to listen, helps develop empathy for another.  Be a part of the solution, not the problem.  For me today, possibly a opportunity to give another a moment of voice, to validate, to really listen.

Cold water splach

Today the King appears disconnected to his surroundings and with himself. He sets apart from his emotions.  We have all been and done something that our "hearts were just not in it" and so it seems to be with the King today. Adrift with his empty cup he seemingly is lost in his own emotional turmoil. We all get stuck there sometimes, the trick is not to stay there. Need to brood, wail, and weep over 2020, okay fine. Tomorrow is a new day and a new year.  Splash some of that cold water on your face and get back in the game.

Above the fray

Today the King looks like he had enough of all the emotional turmoil, got in his chair and floated down river. Sometimes too much is too much. Even for the King of the suit.  Turn off the t.v., sign out of social media, refuse to discuss all the crappola going on.  The last couple of days have been rainy, thank goodness, it had been weeks. Nothing more relaxing than listening to the rain. A bit of respite to sort it all out.  Then back to the fray.

Questionable

Wonder what watery business the King of Cups has with me today?  Poseidon or Neptune?  With The World positioned the first day of the week, I guess he has joined me to help with any emotional stability I may need. Besides that it always helpful to have someone along to that is supportive.
Watching the news this morning and all the reports about people flocking to the beach, I wonder what are they thinking?  Wonder how they will feel about themselves when they become ill or others in their group-along are stricken.  I love the beach and being near the water, but even with my much appreciation of the water-world, I would not venture out amongst the crowds.

Boggy resistance

Today this king doesn't come across as benevolent and thoughtful.  In fact, today the King of Cups appears to refuse to listen to his intuition nor does he trust his feelings.  They are just about to drown him in warnings; but no he suits-up and acts like everything is just fine as it is.
No things will not right themselves by a-wait and see position.  It is time for action.  Maybe he needs to call his cousin the King of Wands to send his nephew the Knight of Wands over to help get things moving.  Something other than drowning in his own quagmire of inaction.

Emotional airing

Let's take those feelings out and give them a good airing.  Things bottled up usually take on a life of their own, and mostly become blown out of proportion.  Every once-in-awhile you got to let them out; if not they end up in an emotional melt down.  No crying in your cup.
Take 'em for a spin and see where it takes you.

C'est la vie

Poseidon he ain't.  This is the owner/manager of the office I work at.  Pretty decent guy I guess.  Working closely with him the last year makes me want to put some distance between us.  Familiarity breeds contempt is a good description of my take on him now.  He seems like your typical watery man, but he has some under-currents in his nature that like a flash flood can undermine your foundations.  He gives you that look of 'disappointment' when you don't go with his flow, and that is just YUCK.
I am biased against Kings, mostly from their abuse over the years and now I am of an age I just won't tolerate it; not that I ever did that much.

More Water

The Sea is calling to me.  Like this King of Cups water nourishes and sustains me.  I was talking to someone yesterday that hoped when he retired in a few years that him and his wife could retire to Colorado; said the mountains called to him.  He is originally from Austin Texas, but the mountains is where he connected more. Wonder why that is so? The first time I laid eyes on the ocean, or more correctly the Gulf of Mexico on Florida's west coast, I felt home.  The only thing that calls just as much or maybe a bit more is the Atlantic coast of Ireland.  Why I wonder, if the sea is me, I chose to be born in Indiana?  Do I pack my bags now and begin my journey to the sea?  Each time I visit, it gets more challenging to return to Indiana.

Sideway

That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

I think we have all heard that idiom before.  What a load of dead carp.  The King of Cups is a symbol of mastery of emotions, and some cup king most likely invented the saying.  I don't know about anyone else, but just about every man I have ever encountered that was a Cancer was a momma's boy. Easy enough to say  suck it up and not cry" when you go home and boo hoo into mommy's skirt.
That which doesn't kill you, changes you, it doesn't make you stronger.  Sometimes it makes you hide out deep in the watery depths of your emotions.  If I run across this king today with some flippant comment, I will tell him to take a 'long walk off a short pier' - another 'pearl of wisdom'

Well done

Here's to it then!

Here is to the Year well done!  I think this guy is satisfied with the way things have turned out.  I noticed all the x's on his sashes and at his cuffs and he has taken count of all the things he managed to accomplish this year.
It's a week before Christmas and work comes to a gentle halt. Now is a good time to count all that is right in my world; those other things will tag along with me into the new year, but for now let's enjoy the moment. Salute'

Sit back down please

The King of Cups has made a repeat appearance.  Evidently he has not left the table and still has something more to say to me.

I do not ignore a card that has presented itself again. If I shuffle, shuffle, shuffle, mix and cut the cards and I draw the same card as the day before evidently there is more to garner.  Wasn't I a bit rude to leave the table without the king's approval and him being so gracious about it.  I thought we were done yesterday and looking at him looking at me I really can't fathom what else needs to be said.  Obviously he is in no hurry to let me know since he is intent on enjoying himself.  I can hope that whatever it is he lets me know and hopefully he takes a drink from his cup and swallows his food before speaking; I definitely don't want to be wearing bits of his lunch.
So here I sit waiting for whatever needs to be said.  The least he could do is let me cut a piece of the cake with cherries so I can enjoy myself at his table too.

Two - Please!

I would enjoy having lunch with this King.  Actually I think a long, relaxing lunch is exactly what is called for with all the wands energy I have been working with of late.  He is a bit different that the iconic King of Cups, no fish here, just lots of indulgent items to lunch on and bumble bees.  The King still holds his cup up, not as a symbol of power or control over his emotions, more like..."come join me."

I have a business lunch today.  Well not quite business, still I am meeting with a past client.  I can't compete with the younger class of sales agents; I am done with the hard hustle and bustle of business.  I am going to take a more relaxed pace. I met a agent that I have known for years for lunch Monday.  She holds her license but really is out of sales.  She was and is a natural - she doesn't know a stranger.  Literally if she decides to talk to someone in short order she will have found some connection, through this, that, or another.  I too was somewhat like her but since trauma I withhold so much of myself.  Fear left a long tether on me and I am always looking for a way to get back home.
I like the bees, busy little bees.  They seem to have the best jobs.  Moving from one sweet spot to another, I am sure they don't think of what they do as a job.  Bees have fallen on tough times but with a little help from Kings of Cups and lots of others they will make a come back.  So I am going to take the King's advice and relax and enjoy and the bees let me know I can do my work over lunch...

Port of Call

Responsibility before self expression.

I wonder.  Often, I give up my time to be my most authentic self to make sure the job is done.  Making sure that I keep a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on the table.  When the client and customers call I put my own needs to the side and take care of theirs.  I don't do it 24/7 like I did when I got started.  I still work with the premise of 'strike while the iron is hot.'  Which now that I think of it is my center card in my Autumnal reading.
Work, work, work, has been instilled in me and it is true of my Capricorn nature.  But I wonder if I had been encouraged to continue with my poetry when I was a teenager what a different woman I would be.  Both life's are worth tipping my cup to, still         I wonder.

I am grateful for all that is well in my world.
