Everyday magic

Preparation is the basis of success.  When considering changes in and to our lives it is best to review our skill set, items and attitudes that are at hand, things that come naturally to us. First think about what we can improve in our lives before making changes, taking a look back before moving forward. What looks like magic to another is just a well prepared plan in action.

Illusion or real?

Is seeing believing. Magic, wonderment or a parlor tricks?  Are those bits of unexplainable coincidence, synchronicity, or just random acts?  Whatever they grab our attention.  I like to still believe in the magic of the Universe. Something to hold onto.

Presto!

This Magician looks bored and appears to be taking magic for granted.
Don't do that.  When we lose appreciation for the wonders in the World, the Light goes out of us, or at least retreats and the shadows dim our joy.  This morning it is rainy and I started to complain and stopped myself and exclaimed, Yeah Rain! Flowers next Spring and fresh veggies from the garden because of rain, and the real joy is it is not snow.  So every cloud does have a silver lining, and that is where the Magic is, appreciation.

Unexpected company

What is going on here?  I drew The Hermit today and thinking that maybe a guide would show up today, or someone who just happens to give a bit of advice or suggestion.  Maybe someone in the checkout line at the grocery; you never know.  Anyway the scan came out like this. How did The Magician sneak in on the The Hermit?
I evidently left The Magician on my scanner yesterday. I have never left anything on my scanner; not just on the blogs but all the other thousands of documents from my work-a-day life.  Why The Magician and why now?  Today will be interesting to see if I find out.

Is it "we do what we are, or we are what we do?"
The Magician today appears like a diviner, drawing information or energy or what is needed to oneself.  A lightning rod.  Can this be the moment of "Magic" when we realize we are the Magician?  We can change what needs to be change just by calling that change to us?

Change the way we look at things and the things we look at Change.

Oh ho ho

Oh ho ho, it's magic you know, never believe its not so! -Elo

The Magician has come to visit.  Hope she/he stays for a bit.
I have been reading different versions lately of "What you think about you bring about"  "You become what you think about"  the " I AM"
I also heard a speaker talk about a youtube video "The Strangest Secret" by Earl Nightingale, a half-hour older video about becoming what we think about.
Even though part of me wishes the Magician is someone that shows up and makes magic for me; it is I, who is the Magician.  The one that takes the tools (on the table) and makes magic for myself.
So what can I do today, that brings a bit of magic in my life?

All around me

Do I believe in magic. You betcha.  It is all around.
My eyes have focused on two things today with the Magician's visit.  The ouroboros at the magician's waist and the the blue sword.  The other three minor implements are yellow, unless you see the second wand, the one Magician is holding.  Still it is the snake with his tail in his mouth that keeps drawing the eye.  Some see the ouroboros as an infinity symbol.  Much to contemplate with this visit today.  It will be interesting to look for and hopefully see magic in action today.  Maybe the blue sword is the clue. The magic maybe held in my own thoughts and actions today.

Presentation

Point of Power

I have been studying this card for awhile and cannot figure out why The Witch decided to don hat and cape out in her woods. Maybe it is chilly but I would think the fire and cauldron were enough to keep her warm.  I know people who never leave home without being fully made up, clothes, make-up, the whole shebang.  First impressions are everything and they always want to make the 'right' impression.  Maybe being in full witches mode brings power to herself and her circle.
I am going to heed her advice and step up my game a bit today.  There is magic in looking and feeling your best.

Practice makes perfect

Practice makes perfect.  How many times over the years have I heard that one.  Some wisdom in those words and sometimes I think all that practice on one skill set might choke the magic right of our me.

The wonder of being a Magician's apprentice, to learn what they will learn.  I think this young fellow had enough of working on his skill sets and decided to take what he has learned and headed out and see where it will take him, much like the Fool, out and about.
This young elfin holds the Infinity Symbol in his hand.  I learned a bit of magic healing a few years back from a healer.  Imagine the lemiscate stitching and repairing tissue from a wound. I work with this healing mystique still today.

I must remember that I hold a bit of magic in me as well.

One is the loneliest number

"One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do, two can be as bad as one, it's the loneliest number since the number one." ~ Harry Nilsson and song performed by Three Dog Night

Most practitioners of magics usually do so alone. Mostly do to persecutions from people who live in fear of what they do not understand.  I wonder if this gal learned from her mother who learned from her mother and so on back.  Does her craft bring her joy or something she feels bound to do, given it is a generational legacy?

Are we what we do or do what we are?

Be Well

My thoughts today are with a friend that is undergoing a major surgery, one that impacts her life. Sending healing energy and loving though...
