Decision - Decision

If all the Aces are a gift - new prosperity, a brilliant thought, uplifting emotion, or a burst of energy. the Twos then give us the dilemma faced about what to do with the newly presented opportunity.  The good becomes problematic. Say it ain't so! It is.  The Two of Pentacles  becomes a balancing act. Take care of this and let that slide, at least for a bit. A choice for which task or option is the one to focus one.  This or That?

Magician

I don't often draw The Magician, from whatever deck that is in hand.  Some potential new beginning that casts a spell of anticipation. Wonder and Magic are available to us all in we are open to the possibilities that surround us. Most are too focused on accomplishing what is next, or getting a job done, or engulfed in worry, or other 'shoulds'.  If we can turn off the buzz of the daily grind there is the music of the spheres to be heard. Stop and listen, hear the soft tinkle of the wind passing through chimes somewhere up/down the road. The call of birds to each other. Yesterday I was enchanted with the wind rushing through the bare limbs of the trees, their sway and rhythmic dance with the wind. Magic!

XING

'It's a Sign!'

'Do this don't do that, can't you read the sign?'

'If you are looking for sign, this is it.'

If I saw this design on the hillside I would take it as a sign.  A sign of what would depend on my mindset of the day. Are we looking for directionals in our life? I do and I pay attention to signs.

Speak softly and carry a big stick(s). Choose wisely. Between a rock and a hard place. Take a stand.

Tarot and Oracles are directionals and yes I have made decisions based on a draw.

Spot not on

You never quite get all the things in your life done. Sometimes the more you do the more your realize the more that is still left to do.  You work on getting things organized and once completed you remember the odd thing in the corner did not get sorted along with the rest. It happens post Christmas. Put what you may out for your holiday display then when packing it up a day or so later, or maybe a week, you spot it, the last of the things that was overlooked.  Something is nagging me at the corner of my field of awareness. Maybe today's Full Moon will bring some illumination.

Serendipity

I found a couple of pennies the other day, one here and another there.  I am always grateful for any action of abundance. "Find a penny and pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Be it ever so humble

Our parents would turn the porch light on in the evenings when it was time to get home.  Five minutes was the rule or there would be consequences. For the most part my sisters and brothers and I would always make it home, since there were multiple lookouts between us all. We lived in a quiet little neighborhood we called 'The Circle' because it was a cluster of homes around an oval street. There were hard times and good times that revolved around rules, routines, and responsibilities. Childhood, days gone by. Many of them I miss.

You can drive through any neighborhoods and see porch lights on. I wonder if it is a signal for others, calling children home for the night?

Felidae genus

Earlier this morning I was thinking about yesterday's draw of the Zebra and "A change in the wind" which I speculated about whether we/I can imagine more than what is really there.  The thing is, I really should have checked if the hoofbeats were those of horses or zebras? Horses you get out of the way, zebras you better watch for the lions that are chasing the zebra and hope they don't change their focus to you. Yikes!

Today the Cheetah, also from the cat family, which lions are included in, clues me into focusing on the commitment to the change and go the distance as if lions or cheetahs were chasing me.

k.i.s.s.

 keep it simple stupid.

"When you hear hoofbeats, don't go looking for zebras"

The most simple explanation is usually more correct than coming to some exotic conclusion.  If we hear hoofbeats, most likely it is horses not zebras.

Disappointment

And sometimes the answer is no.  Asked and answered. No, can ultimately be the right answer, but it can take awhile for that to be clear. In a cloud of disappointment over a response of 'not for you' we can bemoan and lament and still the answer will be no.  Go with it. I try to remind myself that when things do not work out the way expected, that there is a reason. It is kind of like taking a left at a stop sign when we usually go straight ahead.  You wonder, What? Well that detour sent you around an accident waiting to happen ahead. Sometimes we don't know the Why of It, it just is.

Ebb and flow

"When fisherman cannot go to sea, they stay home and repair their nets." ~ Nabil Sabio Azadi

I have not heard this interesting quote before. Gives me pause to ponder.

It's only straw

This card reminds me of Dorothy at the Yellow Brick Road crossroads in the Wizard of Oz as she asks herself.

"Now which way to go?"  And the Scarecrow answers...

"Pardon me that way is a very nice way.   It's also pleasant that way" as he shifts his arms, "Of course people go both ways."

I have been standing at a crossroads and keep asking myself  'which way to go?'  I have been asking it of myself for so long, that it feels like my mind is made up of straw.

Indecision is a decision in itself, and I don't like it.

Clean it up

Spring has arrived. Spring cleaning needs to commence.  Want change in Life? Start with the home. Clean, clear, and cast out things that no longer work, or need, are not serviceable, and no longer make you smile.  When you release you make room for the new energy that can be very uplifting. A good way to step into Spring.

Hellos and Goodbyes

My journey through the forest has been fun and enchanting.  Off-chance I meet a gatekeeper of sorts. She asks if I have enjoyed my time in the forest and offers me a token of remembrance. I realize as I go, today is the last day of Winter. Whew!  Spring is here and looking about Mother Earth's garden I realize everyday can be Spring if you hold the magical and enchanted with your heart and soul.  Easier said than done, but worth the try.

The grand illusion

Trapped with no one else to blame. Why oh why, we ask ourselves. Taking the wrong turn we decided to leave the path. So boring, paths, seemingly knowing where they lead.  We step out in adventure or idiocy and then finding ourselves in a big pile of brambles, hardships. We exclaim "oh my, why me?" Well why not you? We make choices, we make mistakes. Only we can decide from this point where and how to proceed. Stay stuck or pick apart the brambles, the thorns, and get back to the path. Quit believing there are no other choices.

Seeker

There are so many things to discover in the Enchanted Forest; slow down and really pay attention to world around. What do we miss when we hurry through our day?  This Knight has left her horse at the edge of the forest and is on a different path of discovery, up close and personal. A journey, not the destination, is her plan today.

Stop and smell the roses, or the honeysuckle.

Entreaty

I wonder what my spin on The Wheel will bring to me today?  Yesterday evening I stepped up to the Wheel and asked for what I asked for.  Today the Wheel spins and when it stops I will add my token of appreciation. All requests are answered, some not the way we hope.

All in a day

Dedication to a task.  How long would it take to master the art of magical weaving? Gold from nettles, now there is something.  Something from nothing, many of us do it everyday. We start each day with a clean slate before us and at the end of the day, a task is done, children play, a paycheck is earned, a hug is given. We are so focused on the mundane we forget to appreciate the magic in and of our own lives.

Yesterday afternoon I plopped down on my bed and was mesmerized by the dust motes that danced in a stream of sunlight coming through the open seam of the curtain in my bedroom. On the curtain rod I have a cut glass crystal that is crescent moon shaped. The sunlight passed through the crystal and the dust motes looked like little bits of rainbows floating before me. Magic.

Splash

We would all love the opportunity to meet a mermaid. Allen who meets Madison, who he thought was really a childhood imagination, is amazed, frightened, and embarrassed after her big reveal.  Most of us hide behind our masks and in moments of the big reveal to others or even ourselves, we can become frightened. Lovely thought if we could shake of those trappings and be who we really are. The me of me, we were meant to be.

A new story

Letting go of the expectations of others can be frightening and it can also be empowering. This story of Little Red Riding Hood is vastly different from the childhood story we were told. Stories meant to keep us from the woods or those unknown places and things deemed as unsafe by others. This gal went to the woods and stayed and enjoyed a long and interesting life with a magical wolf.  It takes Strength and Courage to let go of the old stories, but there can be so much wonder in the new story we can create for ourselves.

Dare to enter the magical Enchanted Forest.

Shapeshifter

This King of Cups has left the throne room and transfigured himself in a salmon, not to deceive; to learn. Listening to all the stories and requests becomes a burden of decisions made with no basis. To walk in one shoes, or in this case to experience the day to day issues; to listen, helps develop empathy for another.  Be a part of the solution, not the problem.  For me today, possibly a opportunity to give another a moment of voice, to validate, to really listen.

Sunny questions

The Sun is shining today. Lovely promises with a Sun draw.
I wonder if Pan playing his flute is announcing the return of Persephone?  Do we call sunny days to ourselves?  I started reading a bit about Pan, and got lost down the rabbit hole.  I read something the other day about the rotation of the Sun through the Zodiac, that I cannot quite recall, back to searching the information at hand. Did you know the Sun rotates and different parts of the Sun rotates at different speeds due to the expansion and contraction of the hot gases? In Astrology the Sun expresses itself through the sign of the zodiac at a point of Earth time. I wonder if those expansions and contractions of Sun material get expressed in our actions? My astrological birth-sign is Capricorn the Sea-goat, kind of similar to Pan, part goat part human. Wonder if we are cousins? Lots of questions to think about when I spend twenty minutes soaking up my Vitamin D today.

The Return

This Ten of Pentacles reminds me of pictures viewed of celebrating the end of WWII. Ticker-tape parades, dancing and celebrating in the streets, joy and wonder that comes with success and the relief experienced at the return of loved ones and the end of the threat from a evil despot. How different we have been during the war on covid. Fear mongering, protests, and outrage at perceived infringements of our rights, has our country lingering in the shadows and on edge in civil unrest. We did not do right by ourselves and each other during this battle. We never really came together and faced the pandemic enemy with a united front. Hopefully we can put most of this behind us and come together and celebrate each other and the opportunities that tomorrow holds.  Here is to hope! A true Ten of Pentacles celebration.

Ability and Means

Many of us have the ability and means to do something, that something that calls to us. Walk your own path, even if you have to walk away.

I watched the interview last night and thought how courageous the pair were to face the institution and the pain of having to turn and find their way.

Exchanges

Need to feel better?  Spend time with others that can help you laugh at yourself and enjoy the moment.  These days of confinement have limited us from pandemic exposure, but also have limited us from the much need contact of others. New and fun associations are needed to give us joy and send us to bed at night with a smile on our face with the lovely memories of the day.

Face the fear

Face the fear and do it anyway. No one said it would be easy. No one said it would be easy. No one said it would be easy. No one said it would be easy. No one said it would be easy.

Sometimes Life gifts us, mostly though we have to do what needs to be done. The problem is our own resistance. Drop the mantra and do it anyway.

Projection

From time to time we can ask ourselves, 'where do you see yourself in the next six months, next year, next five years?' I have always found that a difficult task. Today is really all we have and five years from now, who could possibly know.  Looking at these three playing and frolicking in the water, would be a lovely vision. Enjoying their days as they come. I am sure otters don't think of tomorrow at all, just the lovely moment with family and friends. That is something to raise our Cups to!

Letting go

Not so much as sorrow but the acceptance that things didn't work out as hoped or promised. It is hard to shake off the image and feelings of an expected future, we can become adrift in the lingering disappointment.  How long we stay in the shadows is up to us. Never good to stay too long, but really, only we can pick up the promise of tomorrow and meet a new day.

Trust the process

There are times we want to get from point A to point B with a snap of our fingers; mostly it doesn't work that way.  Things and projects take time to root, to take hold, and then begin to show promise.  Typically the Seven of Pentacles is a gardener looking with anticipation as her seedlings take root and begin to grow.  It reminds me to have patience and 'Trust the Process.'

This gal will most likely not see the tree in the fullness of maturity, but she plants, leaving a green legacy.  Sometimes we will never see the completed project, get started anyway.  Do it, and trust the process.

Good day sunshine

A promise of sunshine is enough to put some pep in my step.

The Beatles Lyrics. "Good Day Sunshine". Good day sunshine, good day sunshine, good day sunshine. I need to laugh and when the sun is out. I've got something I can laugh about. I feel good in a special way. I'm in love and it's a sunny day. Good day sunshine, good day sunshine, good day sunshine.
