Alignment

Mental energy is just as important as physical readiness when making plans for what's ahead - 2022.  Getting my mind set in anticipation for new adventures ahead makes all the difference.  Last year at this time I consulted horoscopes and the cards to try to anticipate 2021, not this year.  I am going to face the new year with my happy face and happy feet and enjoy myself as much as possible.

Vainglorious

What a word - Vainglorious. I have run across that word multiple times in the last couple of weeks, interesting. Vainglorious is a apt description for the Six of  Spring (traditional card, Six of Wands).  Hey if you get it right, why not celebrate! Enjoy the moment of success. We don't get many of those moments, so make the most of them. The thing is you can't stay in that moment, once you celebrate and bask in the glow of the joy and acknowledgement, you must move on. If not, vainglorious.

I always like to celebrate buying a new shirt or blouse. I wonder what color would look good on me in 2021!

Might as well be me

A slogan from lottery commercials, "Someone is going to win, might as well be you"  So here is the trophy cup. I win! Whatever it is that I win today, I am going to celebrate. When the moment comes I am going to enjoy it.  Someones gotta win, might as well be me.

Now excuse me why I go polish my trophy.

Take the High Road

Take the "High Road." Be the better person. Pssh. Why? Of course the answer is it is always better to be kind and generous, but there are days when you get tired of being abused, taken advantage of, pushed around, ignored.  Some days enough is enough. Some days you got to put on the 'big girl' panties and stand toe to toe with the bullies. As I have gotten older and hopefully a bit wiser I realize being right or out front is not all it is cracked up to be. Still, there are days that I get tired of being pushed and I push back. You know what; it feels pretty good. I don't push back whereas it will be a pain to another, just to that moment that they know that I am there and aware.

Group effort

We can do more together than apart.
I seem to be isolating more and more these days, and it is not all about the covid crisis.  I am looking down the not too long road to retirement and wonder about finding a circle of support and shared interests.  I read a little article the other day where Richard Branson says start two lists, one with everything you like and the other with your dislikes.  Maybe that will give me a hint.  Discovering my new place "in the sun" is my next adventure and that is worth celebrating.

Get up!

It is a Holiday Weekend, the unofficial start to the Summer.  Ninety-two degrees is the forecast today.  No dancing around the fire-pit with those temps.  I remember with fondness that today would have been the last day of school until September.  Thoughts of staying up late and playing hide-n-go-seek, and catching fireflies, and running barefoot, and, and, and.  I have lost the wonderment and this Summer's quest is to get it back.
I have had several offers to stop by 'friends' homes this weekend and have not accepted one of them. We have gotten old and dancing around with joy is not in them. They say the five people you spend time with is a reflection of you, time to go in search of others that want to get up and dance. Older we may be, there can still be some celebration and joy.

Revisitation

Drew the gal on her pony again this morning followed by Temperance.  The three living beings, are all facing left and the etheral angel looking straight out at me. I don't think I am stuck in yesterdays but...last Thursday there were high winds and tornado warnings and so many asked me how I managed.  Their good intentions leave me bleeding and regretful thinking about what happened and what has been lost along the way.  I guess Temperance suggests I pour the wounding in a vessel and think about what has been gained along the way.

Herald

Wonderful news is on its way? Really.  That is all good and well, but the waiting can be the undoing.  Good news is relevant.   What is good news for one could be and "oh well" for another.  Getting all worked up on the hype of something good on its way can be a adrenaline rush, with a let down possible.  Better to enjoy the moment we are in and not hold our breath waiting for some wonderful news.  If it comes great, if not, I got another day and that is great onto itself.

Opportunity

Victory?  I do not think this gal is interested in accolades or the laurel wreath of success.  Her gaze is off center, there to right.  She knows that accomplishment is an ongoing endeavor.  Yes she was victorious, but the journey is not complete.
There is more to do and more to learn.  Take a moment to congratulate and then get back in the saddle and continue.
Continue what? that is the real joy, we have a choice.

I have decided that Opportunity is my word for 2019.
I wonder how many secrets are within opportunity.  I am going to find out.

To light and warm

Is that the true purpose of fire, to light and warm?  I read that recently and thought about all the other fire attributes, mostly to burn away and shape.  Still Wands will give us light and warmth with their fire.  When fire was discovered and harnessed somewhat, by early predecessors, the World changed.  The energy of Wands can do that.
Corvus is the Genus of birds, including ravens and crows and other large flock birds.  It takes a village or a murder of crows.
Birds of a feather...

Modus Operandi

To the victor goes the spoils. While the five others where out on the hillside stickin' around, someone rode in and took the prize.  I wonder whilst all the political biz and 'fake' news is keeping us entertained and diverting our attention elsewhere, what and who are about to reveal their real intention.

Turning Point

It takes a Village

When I view this card I almost always wonder what is the horse thinking.  He definitely is looking with intent back at the rider.  Victory does not belong just to the rider but also the horse and all those that help the man achieve his success.  This is a good reminder that things do not happen on their own.  When it comes to my day to day successes I need to recognize others' contributions.  Be grateful that I have the support of others along my way.  Appreciation goes a long way.    Thank you!

Apprenticeship

When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

Maybe when the teacher is ready the student(s) appear.  Who chooses the new generation of practitioners?   The well prepared students or the one most accomplished in the trade.

Impermanence

I did it my way.

I wonder why so many throughout history have needed to have a monument to themselves?  Fearful of passing into nothingness or to let others know they were here?  Maybe a bit of both and come to think of it, most us do the same when we have a headstone placed on our graves.  Decades pass into eons and soon no one remembers or cares, well maybe a few historians and philosophers.
I like many in this day and age am opting for cremation.  Ashes to ashes, Dust to dust.   I came, I did, and now I have moved on.  I guess it's the moving on the so many of fearful of.

Don't group us together

Blah. I find myself in the doldrums.

Yesterday evening I was having a phone conversation with someone I work with.  His Mother passed and left the planet six weeks ago.  He went and saw a friend earlier in the week who basically told him he is depressed.  Go figure..that was easy to come up with.  Not clinically, still enough issues for concern.  I too have slipped into that murky place in the last week.  I am sleeping way too much, experiencing episodes of anxiety (not new to me in the last 5years), sluggish...blah.
The cold weather and shorten days of sun light add to my dilemma.  I am coming up on the anniversary of my trauma event which has triggered these episodes before.  I have struggled through and now wonder if talking to a therapist might help to work through some of my issues.  Maybe join a group others with PSTD and then maybe not.

Whistle While You Work

If you are going to show up, might as well enjoy yourself.

I had a great time on my vacation a week or so back.  This card reminds me that I don't have to wait to enjoy myself.  Each day presents itself with hardships or challenges as in the five or seven that surrounds this card.  So, that's Life, we all have those days and then we all have days like this six.  When looking at this card it reminded me of "whistle while you work" from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  That lead me to viewing a couple of video clips from the old movie of SW and the 7D's.  How movies and videos have changed.  Still I was tapping me my toes in unison with the songs of old.  For me it was a few minutes of vacation, a bit of joy in a simple thing.  So, Hi Ho Hi Ho its off to work I go.
