Here and there

"Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans" -John Lennon.

There you are happily enjoying the view and even then we can't help but make future plans. You are on the way to the merriment in the Four of Wands, and already working on what to do after that. So much time spent in the future and also reviewing the past, we lose the moment we are in.

Alright now Carolyn

Seventy-Five percent. I realize that I spend the winter months moaning and groaning about the cold and always have my eyes cast to the promise of Spring. That's about Twenty-Five percent of my year not really being present in my life. In grading percentile that is about a C I am giving my life. YeeGads! As a student getting good grades was something I always worked toward. Went to class, did my studies, finished my homework, did extra credit, that was then not now. How much more meaningful my days would be if I applied myself everyday, take action on that what mattered most to me. I read a quote the other day "Bloom where you are planted" so maybe I can't bloom during the Winter's cold, but I can feed my roots and tend my soil.  Already we have about an hour more of daylight, just enough to start sending tender sprouts up. I can get behind that promise.

Pat on the back

When every step on the daily path seems a struggle we need to reach deep within for the fortitude to continue. We can work to move ourselves beyond our perceived limitations and persevere. Nothing like a good hard days' work to get a feeling of satisfaction.  Want to get it done, just do it.

Out there...

Review time. Looking towards the New Year, what is best to leave behind and what actions to plan going forward.  Out of the One and the Two comes the Three.  The Trinity expressed in many forms encourages us to move forward. Ace is the new action, Two the coupling of energies, Three outward movement. To establish oneself.  I am looking forward to change.

Issue at hand

The mind is a noisy thing.  I have noticed over the last few weeks that mine is finally starting to quiet a bit.  Sure, I am still plugged in but that has been limited by not flitting about town, here and there.  With no dodging between cars, lights, billboards.  Not as many emails, phone calls, and texts.  And not as much as this and that to attend to.  I am listening more to my internal voice.  Paying attention a bit more to my issues at hand.  Things needed to be done or not.  Adjustments in my mindset and with that, planning a way forward.  What really needs to be done, what opportunities lie ahead as I clear my way?

Sun up

"Sun is up time's at hand. There's a stir across the land.  And so begins another day, on Life's highway."  Steve Wariner ~lyrics.

Okay new day, new start.  Trouble moving?  Grab a walking stick and get yourself going. Until we draw our last  breath, there are still things to do.

And waiting

Waiting, and waiting, and waiting...
Time to get off the hillside and get down to the shore or docks and wave those ships in.
"Opportunity doesn't knock if it doesn't know where you are."

Challenges

That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger.........
I have heard variations of that through the years and let me tell you, we don't need to be pushed that hard.
"Dear whatever is killing me, I am strong enough. You may stop now, please and thank you."
I understand about giving more, being more, trying more, and pushing yourself almost to the edge, but not enough to prove something, damage ourselves, or spend days, weeks, years in recovery.

Fracas

Keeping your head above the fray, wise advice some might say.  Yet truly some times you really do need to get yourself involved,.  Not necessarily take a roll in the mud.  If you don't know how the 'other half' lives, you can't really make a comment or make a correct valuation. Work, service, politics, government, real estate, chocolate comparisons, schools, cars.....on an on it can go.  You don't have to walk in everyone shoes, just take yours off once in awhile. If we do, we can see people, places, things from a different vantage point.

Destiny's design

Are there some things in our lives that are destiny inspired?  Yes, I think so.  Or better yet, lessons to help us to inspire ourselves.
Hard work, preparation, and determination help too.

One-Two-Three

Another card of Spring/Summer.  Maybe the warmth I seek is within.  Listen to the thrumming of my heart and the 98.6° internal temperature, cause other the natural gas burning in my furnace, that's where the warmth is.  We get a bit of respite today with 50° and tomorrow a few degrees warmer and that's the thaw.  Best get out of doors and soak up a bit of mid winter sunshine, and count out three blessings of the day.  Christmas is one week and this fairy needs to change her dress to green with red piping.

Return Visit

Shuffling and drawing The Three of Wands again, I placed back in the deck and reshuffled and again drew the Three of Wands.  The Tower followed in the deck with last draw, so I wonder.  I have to put myself out there, despite risks?
Three times in a row with the Three of Wands, going to look for some triplicities today.  Reminds of an old saying, 'three in a row makes the rooster crow' Some say it is a throwback idiom to the three times Peter denied the Christ.  I wonder what the day will bring?

I read a thought provoking quote this morning.
"It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere." - Agnes Repplier

Get 'er done

Perseus's story is one we all have heard and enjoy, given several movies have be made about this demi-god.  A new Avengers movie is coming out at Christmas, so many are caught and watch the on-going movies about all the super-heroes.  I guess these day heroes are needed.  Mostly they represent this Three of Wands energy, to out and do what needs to be done; even it is cutting off the head of Medusa. Yikes.

Sing me a song

When I was a younger girl I would help my Dad plant our vegetable garden. Well all the the kids in the family did, but I think I was the only one who really enjoyed it.  I don't get out and do much now, in fact I just put a few pots out every year.  One thing I still do is talk to my my flowers and sing little ditties to them and I believe they respond.  Today's suggestion in my book of daily reflections suggests to sing to ourselves. To sing and encourage growth and love and healing within.  My immediate go to song is "On a Clear Day" which inspires me with joy, happiness, and hope.  And like the rainbow in the backdrop, the promise of a clear day.

Focused efftort

Focused effort is what the description given by the accompanied lwb.  I first looked at the this Three of Wands as someone determined to unbind themselves, the struggle to be freed of others constraints.  I guess that would take focused effort.  I actually did a reading last night with this deck and the focus point was this Three of Wands covered by The Nine of Coins.  Focused effort for individual security or accomplishment, makes sense.

The Fountain Tarot is a new deck for me.  Looking through the cards I think I am going to like this deck.  A bit more modern and based on the Rider Waite-Smith Tarot which is my preferred deck. Lots of geometry and soft images.  There is an extra card added to the Deck, A Major named 'The Fountain'  (Be)- Oneness, Cosmic Clarity- Ether

Simple Start

We all need something to dance about.  I just hope her dance is not premature.  Good news goes a long way, but. After the Five of Swords the last couple of days, a bit of good news will be nice, though I will be a bit hesitant to get up and dance.  Let all the 'ships' come in and then the dance can begin.  For today I will hum a happy little tune.

When I looked at this three it brought to mind a campfire startup.  Three twigs upright in a trine position; joined at the top with dry leaves at the base.  A good way to start a fire and when caught then you can place the long burning logs.

There ahead...

Course laid in

There comes a moment when you know it is time to change direction.  Doesn't have to be a big monumental moment or change, just that something different has to happen.  Mark your calendar Carolyn and prepare for a change.  By shell, ship, boat, car, train, plane, change is a coming.

Don't take for granted

Reaping the fruit of hard work.

Wands energy.  Never did quite get the gist of a person standing at the ready waiting for ships to come in.  Hopeful for all of her hard work to pay off?
This card helps bring this home.  Good Soil, Sunlight, and Rain are exactly what the plant needs to thrive and produce, and yet it needs tending.  Someone had to plant the Wands as a trellis and weed around the plant.  Something to think on and remember, seemingly easy success might not reveal the hard work that went towards that success.
Looking at all those luscious strawberries - might be a good day for some strawberry shortcake for dessert, after my hard day of work.

Established

Following the path of least resistance.

Sometimes is is just easier to follow in the footsteps of others.  I don't usually go for herd mentality but sometimes it is best.
Makes me think of the idiom "don't reinvent the wheel."
