Snow day

It is snowing out there this morning. Pretty to look at, not much fun to get out in it anymore. As a young girl a snowy morning held much promise of fun. First, school might have been canceled. I loved learning and still do but there was something special about a 'snow day.' Second I would get myself all bundled up and go out and make a snow angel; magical how a pair of wings of mine own making in the snow made me feel.  Thirdly how great it felt getting back inside and warming up. I didn't really comprehend or appreciate central heating as a child, but I sure do as an adult. Now I watch the delicate flakes falling and think, how lovely whilst sitting in my warm home with a cup of hot chocolate in my Ace of Cups.

Big gulp

I will have a big cup of whatever will chase away this cold.  One and half weeks of congestion is just too long.  I glanced at the card from yesterday and realized that getting older has both benefits and disadvantages. One disadvantage is taking longer to heal. I could be so much worse and I know that and am glad that I am not, but I am starting to reach the whiny stage.  Hopefully this Ace of Cups signals the final stretch.

A - New

I have over thought things most of my life, allowing my analytical nature to guide me. At this juncture in my days I can criticize myself for those choices or congratulate myself that I have made it this far. I have followed my intuition on occasion, but mostly let thought direct me. As I have gotten older I have more of a tendency to get out of my head and to trust my feelings and follow my inner promptings.  A new way of tending to the days of my life.

Pearl of Wisdom

Listen for it. A shared word may be just what I am waiting for. A nugget of wisdom from another that gives me a feeling of wonder and hope of something new.  Just over there...a doorway to something new and wonderful.

Too much of a good thing

Outpouring or Overflow? Either Or can swamp us.  We can get caught up in the high-tides of emotions and get our feet knocked out from under us.

The gift of today

A perfect way, to spend the day.

At the park, where swans will hark.

The Sun is shining, Spring is near.

Raise your Ace of Cups in cheer.

Scrying

Recently I read a passage in a book that asked, "when if ever, was the last time you checked in with your soul?"  An interest query.  I check in with my family, my friends, my clients and customers, usually on a regular basis, but myself, hmmm.

Feel that?

I remember years ago attending a six-hour tarot class. I knew someone that knew someone and I decided to go. So much to learn and six hours didn't begin to cover The Tarot. The instructor did tell us that all the Aces were gifts. Gifts of what I wonder, and sometimes still do. The gift of new starts, not necessarily new beginnings, that would be found in the Major Arcana. The gift of the start of a new day, a new week, a new month. New Year beginnings start with The Magician. This week is at an end so what is something new I can start with in the new week, tomorrow. The Ace of Cups reminds to feel my way to that new start. What feels right and go with that.

Look up

With my renewed interest in astrology I find myself sidetracked by the stars and the planets. Many thousand of years ago we wandered under the influence of the Sun and the Moon. With the advent of fire we began to wander less and ventured out in to the night to tend the fire and we began noticing the movement of the points of light in the sky.

I will tip my Ace of Cups to beginning something new.

Yearning.

I can feel the urge, the yearning.  It presses upon.  Time for movement and change.
I have been wanting change and something else, and the more I yearn for it. the more impossible it seems to achieve.  And you know what, I am okay with that now.  Happiness is not something yet to come, that comes when it will, but being okay with this moment,  That's all we have.  I have been having these little moments of complete unity. Happiness, so much so in those little moments, I comment "I am happy"
The journey continues until it doesn't.

Gift Horse

'Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.'
When presented with a boon, a bonus, something extra, a pleasant surprise, except your the good fortune.  There have been times when I felt very uncomfortable receiving a blessing; so much so I spoiled the giving.  Either thinking what can I do in turn or being so profusely grateful, I realized some part of me didn't think I deserved the gift.
Today I am grateful for today and anything extra the day brings, good for me.  Thank You.

The Flush

I love the soft sounds of a water fountain or the burble and gurgle of water tripping and playing across rocks in a stream. What a wonder to be out taking a walk along a creek to find a pond with this fountain in is center.  "Ahh, that was the sound that was calling me forward."  There are things that occur in our lives that seemingly just show up, similar to taking this walk along the creek, without us knowing we hear the call of something more.
I think too much, mull over things, pull the strings loose and I begin to unravel. The Ace of Cups reminds me to listen for something other, and let it lead me to gently along my way.

Enchanted

What happy thoughts this card brings to me.  I am a bit spell-bound by it's magical qualities.
Are good days random occurrences, a selection of rotation, one good day for two not so good, or better yet, because we choose them to be?  I woke up this morning in fairly good health, warmth supplied by furnace, food in the fridge, Kitty by my side, freshly laundered clothes to wear, and some coins in the pockets. All is seemingly well in my world, but the the appearance of the Ace of Cups brought a wide smile to my face in anticipation of a lovely day ahead.  Well I am not going to overthink it.  Like the jumping for joy fish, I am going to enjoy my day and raise my glass in good cheer!

Proffered

With the draw of the Ace of Cups, the day holds a lovely promise.  Why then do I feel like just crawling back in bed and search for the offering on a day I choose. Doesn't work that way does it?  Well, maybe once in awhile.  Sometimes we seem to hit a streak, some good and some not so good.  Like the stuff that I mentioned yesterday; it floats around and lands here and there, or seemingly so. I have a choice, go back to bed or get out and experience the day.  Cloud cover has dissipated, at least for today, so that is a promise in itself.

All In

A pair of Aces; I am all in.  Today's Ace of Water/Cups and Yesterday's Ace of Air/Swords really gets the week started.  Thing is the Ace of Air is pointing on direction and today's Ace of Water the other.  Sometimes what we think and feel are pulling us in opposite directions.  Still an Ace is an Ace is an Ace, my Pentacle self can balance the two.

Summer love

Summer, I await your return.  Later this week the calendar marks the first day of Winter, the Solstice and then the Earth begins to makes her shift on her axis and our days here in the Northern Hemisphere begins to experience longer days.  I do not do well in cold weather. The short days of sunlight are an even bigger challenge, so I always look forward to and celebrate the Winter's Solstice.

Alertness

Ace of Cups day.  I drew the Ace of Cups two days ago, different deck, and hoped and expected to receive a sign?  Well, Saturday nothing presented itself, which in itself might be a sign.  Still, drawing the Ace again reminds me to keep expecting lovely magic and wonderful things.  Last night I was out at sister's home, who lives some what remotely. As I left later in the evening on a very crisp chilly night, the sky was ablaze in starlight.  You see so much more on the cold, clear wintery nights, especially out away from the city lights. The constellation Ursa Minor way to the North was most likely visible.
I could fill my cup with starlight magic. Nice!

Hand delivered

Looking for a sign today, or soon. Last couple of nights, or maybe a couple times last night, I dreamed of a marquee sign.  One of those big across three lanes, interstate sign, that announces upcoming information.  I take this Ace of Cups that something is forthcoming, some new information or foresight. And I won't have to wonder because the information will delivered right to me.

Wellspring

What lies beneath?  Our own Ace of Cups.
This Ace of Cups seems to have risen up from the deep well of the water. Although the surface of water is calm and placid, the water beneath moves with the ebb and flow of constant movement.
We can look here and there for the Holy Grail, to finally discover that it is within ourselves.

H2O

Water: a clear, colorless, odorless, and tasteless liquid

What a boring dimensionless description of something so vital and essential to us all.  Water, I take it for granted most of the time.  I turn on the tap - water.  Grab a bottle from the fridge - water. Flush the toilet, wash the dishes, take a shower, walk in the rain -Water.  Not all are so lucky to live with the abundant supply I take for granted.  I give no thought that I am seventy-five percent water, not sure how clear, colorless, odorless my liquid content is.  That is something to think about.
For today and hopefully for most of my days I will really pay attention to all the wonderful ways water is a part of my life, and each and every time say, "Thank You"

Be Well

My thoughts today are with a friend that is undergoing a major surgery, one that impacts her life. Sending healing energy and loving though...
