Social Introvert

 

Several years back, more like seven years ago, someone described me as a Social Introvert. Mostly we should ignore any labels that are hung on us, ignoring what others think, but this one fit. Reticent around others when I was younger, I began to speak up as in high school when I did a part-time waitressing job; learning that the more I interacted with others the better tip I usually received. That trend has continued for most of my working life and now that I am focusing on retiring I have found myself retreating to my quiet self. Like this Knight of Pentacles, only socializing with intent.

Expansive Action

 

Another Knight. Yesterday the Knight of Wands, getting something started, and today the Knight of Pentacles, taking that thought and expanding that idea into motion. I wonder if all this action in my cards has to do with Jupiter, the planet of expansion, that moved out of Pisces on the 10th to Aries yesterday. Aries is all about action. Expansive Action. If one was ready to start something new, right now would be that time.

Get dressed!

 

Everyday I get up and get showered and dressed, who knows what the day may bring. During these days of pandemic, lots of people not leaving their home for work or play, stayed in their pajamas. I never did and still don't during these days of early or semi-retirement. Didn't and doesn't make much of a difference when you are at home, but for me it seems a mind-set sort of thing.  Maybe it is just going through a predictable start of the day, but gratefully a day I get to start and get dressed prepared for what may be.

I never understood and still shake my head at those that decide to stay in their pajamas and still go out in the world. Who wants to see you in your jammies at the gas pump or getting your coffee, or at the grocery store? What kind of statement are you making to yourself?

Yesterday we were gifted with a rather Springy day. Warmer temperatures and bright sunshine; a welcomed relief from the bitter cold, snow and ice of several weeks. I went to the park, and walked just a bit and then found a bench and basked in the Sun and warmth. Before I left, I asked a tree for a hug and leaned in and relaxed.  I can search the world over and always find home in a wooded place and trees for my company. I wonder sometimes how I can be so comfortable in the woods and also the ocean? My guess, both can wrap me in a natural embrace.

Ready, Set, Stay

 

I have mostly gender identified with the Queens, mostly the Queen of Pentacles; this Knight gives me pause for thought on that.  Sitting here with this Knight for awhile I realize that I am a knight of pentacles.  Ready, set, and no go. This knight prefers to stay put. Yes, he has to go questing, for we all must seek out growth for ourselves.  The thought of out there is exciting, but when it comes down to it, like all pentacles we are compelled to root, to stay put. The need to seek and the need to stay are twin forces pulling at me from different directions. Comes back to the questions of  'are we what we do or do what we are?'

If Only. If only I could ride out and bring Spring back sooner.  I need to have my bare feet on soil or sand. But alas, it is barely mid-January and have months to go till the weather turns warm enough to take a walk through the wood in my bare feet. Traditional card is the Knight of Pentacles, and I wonder who in this card is the knight? The Spirit Stag or the gal tracking the stag? Sometimes we cannot hunt what must come in its own time. Spring will arrive when the timing is right and I will look for a messenger with Spring's arrival.

Motivation

 

Making money for the sake of money, what is the point of that? Traditional card, Knight of Pentacles knows how to make money. He has the momentum and the skill set, but just making money is pointless. What will we do with our pentacles once we acquire them? That's the endpoint, to enjoy life.

Seasons change

 What a lovely reminder on the Autumnal Equinox.  A return to a more simpler life.  Spending time  outdoors in exploration and crafting my discoveries. The Earth continues her tilt away from the Sun, at least here in the Northern Hemisphere, so gather what will be needed during the winter days indoors.

Let's do this

I have drawn knights several times in this last week and The Wheel several times too; if not so earth grounded I might suffer a bit of motion sickness. In fact I have had a couple of issues with a spell of dizziness also in the last couple of weeks.  Also noticed birds, hawks and falcons have shown up as well.  Change is in the air and all bodes well. The birds are reminders that my higher-self is in the know and I can trust that the movement is going to be alright.

We can search the whole world over and then realize everything we really wanted, needed, or thought that we wanted and needed, we already had.  Dorothy had to go all the way to Oz to find out. 
Counting the blessings that have been bestowed upon us is the secret of the quest.  November is the month I spend more time in gratitude, daily; hourly sometimes.  I am doing much better all year long with recognizing all the bright blessings in my life.

To be or not to be

I wonder about this Knight of Pentacles.  All dressed up and nowhere to go.  No way the knight could put all that armor on themself and no way could anyone haul themselves up on that horse without assistance.  What does he have to prove? I don't think he does.  His posturing is a directive from the powers that be, Queen/King.  Sometimes we just have to do a thing because that is what has to be done.  Can a situation be changed? Maybe but not for a knight I fear.  A knight was trained and expected to do what was commanded.  I am not sure he/she can be anything else.  The question is can I?

It is going to be one of those weeks.  Work, work, work. Good!  I need to be out and about and do some earning on my way.  Also meeting tax-preparer this week, so there's that.  The Knight seems to be tilted, like riding down the hill so that come be a augury of work this week.  It is always easier going downhill than uphill.
