And there I go again

This is all I want to do today, stay home in my comfy chair and let the world go along its way. It's the rabbit in the corner that can be my undoing. Tempting me to get up and follow her. Just about time I think, okay I can sit for a bit and have me a moment, something comes along, catches my attention, and up I get going.

Practical

Make it do or do without.

Practical, what a blase' description to have hung on oneself, but practical can be all good. The Queen of Pentacles is steadfast and true, bless her practical soul. Make it do or do without, is definitely advice she would give.

Appearances can be deceiving.

I don't feel confident and resourceful today.  Maybe this Queen of Pentacles in fact is in Reversed mode or even Sideways.  Things need to be done and taken care of, so on these days you try to put on your happy face and proceed the best that you can. I hopefully will get through the day unscathed. And if not, in true queenly fashion I will deal with that as well. On days like this it is good thing to remind myself of the blessings I do enjoy and let those beneficial thoughts help carry me through the day.

Hellos and Goodbyes

My journey through the forest has been fun and enchanting.  Off-chance I meet a gatekeeper of sorts. She asks if I have enjoyed my time in the forest and offers me a token of remembrance. I realize as I go, today is the last day of Winter. Whew!  Spring is here and looking about Mother Earth's garden I realize everyday can be Spring if you hold the magical and enchanted with your heart and soul.  Easier said than done, but worth the try.

Becoming

The Wilder Elder. At what point in the cycle of our days do we decide to continue as is, or change? The remaking of oneself can be uncomfortable but rewarding. The caterpillar to butterfly, metamorphosis. Leave behind what was and embrace, ah that's the issue, embrace what? The unknown. Even though the road ahead is uncertain, we must remind ourselves of the resources that we have acquired. Resilience, compassion, experience, generational knowledge, learned things, our connection with the Earth. Those, and more that will help lead us on the journey ahead.

Mirror has two faces

Every time I draw this particular Queen, traditionally the Queen of Pentacles, I wonder about that pointing finger.  Possibly a revist of yesterday's card. This Queen can be Generous, stylish, practical and she can also be harsh, miserly, and critical when the mood strikes her. The mirror has two faces. I wonder if that is why her eyes are closed, she doesn't wish to look too closely at herself when she is sits on her throne, vainglorious. Oh well, as a Queen of Pentacles that moment will pass and she will roll up her sleeves and return to the mundane matters of her life and get things done.

The mirror has two faces

I would say for the most part, Queens know who they are and also for the most part know what they are about. Same thing you say, not necessarily.  We all can get lost from time to time, drift away and lose focus.  We can still act the part and get away with the deception; that is with others, not ourselves.   Can we shake off the pretense and work on self-discovery?  Pull away all the post-it-notes that we stick on ourselves for the elusive 'one-day'?  Acknowledge the fear and the desire of the journey and get on with it?

Significator

One of the visions of me whilst peering into the looking glass, would be similar to this Queen of Pentacles.  Definitely a Earth Mother.  There is the other, a Mermaid; the two seem at odds with each other.  When I look closer I see that they are both in commune with their surroundings.  Each of those visions of me are complete in her place in the natural world.
When I come out on the other side of this virus, where do I want to settle?  My days drift from one to the other. I rather live like this  Queen, who wakes each day in anticipation of what awaits outside her door.

Diversion

More than meets the eye.
I unplugged for the better part of the weekend.
Turned off the tv.  Very limited internet perusal.
Didn't really listen to music or the radio.  Quiet was what I was going for.
Turning in and not turning off, my mind has settled a bit.  I had not been resting well and I believe it was the constant onslaught of information.  Good or bad it has been too much.  This lovely Queen of Earth remains on her throne because she is aware.  Not by all she sees and not by all she hears, but by being in touch with herself.

Distracted

Ah, my friend, The Queen of Pentacles.  Though today she seems distracted and not aware of herself and her surrounding, concentrating only on her pentacle.  Sometimes we can become so focused on one thing that we forget the rest that is going on around us.  Spring is springing, flowers bloom, bunnies hop; there is more than what meets the eye.  Remember that Carolyn

Changing of the guard

Since picking up my first Tarot deck I have always identified myself as a Queen of Pentacles and her as my significator card.  I have gone through stages of the other peoples in the Elements, Earth, Air, Water, Fire, always returning to the Queen of Pentacles.  This Queen of Pentacles has taken a respite in her garden reflecting on her years gone by.  No longer on a throne, she is now the dowager and can relax.
Long in years, I never felt comfortable actually as a Queenly type.  I have led because the position was hoisted on me. The yoke never fit as I was never a princess; more like Cinderella. Can I now relax? Tend to myself in my own garden, "in my own little corner in my own little chair and be whatever I want to be"

Can't do that again.

This card reminds of a couple of summers fifty or so years ago.  Age fourteen and fifteen, I worked the hardest stretch of work for six weeks both summers.  Corn detasselling.  Up at 4:30 am and drove to a local school and then bused to corn fields an hour or so  away, to pull tassels from corn tops.  Hybrid corn.  Ten hours in the blistering hot sun. Face and arms sun-burnt and cut from the corn stalks and leaves; you had to wear white balm on your face and long sleeved shirts in the insufferable heat. If it had rained you slogged in mud up over your ankles. Then another one and half-two hour journey home.  Where you took a bath, ate a bit of dinner and went to bed. Hard work but I got a decent check with a fair amount for me even after I had to split some with my Mother for driving to and from the school. I loved making money and being outside.  A guide-post for post retirement and extra pocket money work.
Traditional card, the Queen of Pentacles.

Where ever you go

Home.  Wherever you go there you are.  Happiness with where you are.  I have an affinity with the Queen of Pentacles and she offered me some of her time to talk about her life and practice in the forest.  She does not just live in the forest, she is part of the forest and lives in communion with nature.
Blessed Be.

Serendipitous

Good luck symbols.  The Queen holds hers. When something lovely comes along enjoy the moment and follow the Queen's example by not holding too tight.  Things come and go throughout our lives.  Live in the moment.
I have been stuck looking at future.  Best place for me is right here, right now.

Shelter in place

I think the draw is suggesting I stay home today and hang out with Kitty.  So I will not go into the office this morning, just work from home.  I still have my obligation of Tuesday afternoon volunteering at the hospital, so I guess not the whole day will be spent at home.
That's all I got.  I am not relating very well with this Queen this morning.  Which is weird because the Queen of Pentacles is usually my significator.

Who's that girl?

When I was a young girl, I spent as much time outdoors as possible and I loved to garden.  I need to return to those days to find the healing and comfort long lost by being indoors.  I notice it even more now that I work indoors and not in outside sales. I think post retirement I will collect my social security and work part-time in the local nursery or the garden centers at a big box store.  There, amid the flowers and greenery I think I will find that young girl again.

Portrait

I am not sure if this Queen of Pentacles ordered a painting of her and her two children, prince and princess or the King, for a remembrance to sit on his kingly desk and remind him of why he works.
We all have keepsakes that comfort us and remind of us of family, friends, places, and things.  They are part of lives.  When clutter clearing it best to keep some of those treasured trinkets so we have them down to road to remind us as we reflect.  Home, shrine to some of our most treasured memories.

Attached

Whose the gal?

The Queen of Pentacles is who she is. Can't believe you missed her.  For the most part she is always present, usually in the same spot you may have last seen her.  Fixed Earth.  Always there to lend a hand of support.

Identifier

The Queen of Pentacles, my identifier card,

Today will be a good day.  My gal pal the Queen of Pentacles is on hand.  I think she has showed up to remind that I have a friend in me, besides others. Yesterday I said goodbye to a friend because it was time for us to part ways. Thankfully the King of Pentacles was on hand to shore me up with his impassiveness when my 'friend'  had a hissy fit. I had given her a 'pass' card on many occasions, but it came down to a pentacle for me to say, enough is enough.  Thinking about it now it gives me lots of room to fill up with delightful, meaningful things that a Queen of Pentacles appreciates.

Be Well

My thoughts today are with a friend that is undergoing a major surgery, one that impacts her life. Sending healing energy and loving though...
