I am not sure why the author decided to use Hydra, a giant water snake, as a portrayal of the Four of Wands? Maybe the five or eight of cups, but the Four of Wands or to feature the Sun in the sign of Leo. Leo is a fire sign so that correlates with the wands, but the Sun would be more a major card. The best I have today is because we think we have come to a place of success (the biggest is the best) and we think we have the time and place to celebrate, that is not to be. Foundations are just that, something to build on.  Enjoy the moment and then get on with getting on.

Sometimes there is no "making the best" of a bad situation.  Most of us do hang in there longer than we should. When it is time for change, make the change. Start anew. Did it once you can do it again. Making a new way can be challenging, but the loss of ourselves by remaining in a toxic environment is just not worth the cost.  

This interpretation of the Four of Wands, really comes across to me as a Reversed Four of Wands. Sometimes the price of security is just too much.

Make a plan, work the plan.  Hopefully then there will be a return on the investment. 
This is an appropriate draw today as I am heading to sister's place in country; today we are putting up corn. What a hot, sticky mess it is, but the reward is corn that taste like summer sunshine on your plate in the middle of winter.
The cicada on the front corner of table reminds me, we have not yet heard their song of return this Summer. Seventeen years below ground, talk about an investment of time.

We have all experienced that wonderful moment. Everything seems to come together.  We beam with joy. Our happy place or happy moment. Our moment in the Sun!

Acknowledge

Celebrate the little moments as well as the big ones.  We forget to acknowledge the little blessings we receive each day.  A sunbeam, hawk on the wing, a found penny, a delicious apple.
The little things add up.

Dance a little dance

Yesterday I spoke of moments of complete happiness.  Little windows that open up and let me know that all is well.  This Wands dancer is opening herself up to one of those moments.  A perfect moment when you feel you could live in that bliss.  Of course as soon as you try to hold on to it, if begins to shift and drifts away.  It has to, we are beings of movement and learning. 
I have been working with energy healing and moving the energy through the meridians in my body and this card reminds me that my work continues on and for me.  Get up and Dance!

And one more

Thinking about that one wand separated from the other three.  Thinking of three, reminds me of the Three of Wands. Waiting for what started in the Ace to come to fruition, and so the fourth wand appears.  Yet it not completed.  Like a ship coming into port someone(s) have to unload the ship, sort and ship and then make good on what was started in the Ace.  What begins now must stand the test of time for the celebration in the Ten of Wands to. 
This day of Thankfulness and Gratitude reminds me of all the wonder in my world.  Sure there are hardships but there is so much more and still more to come.  Now that is worth celebrating.

Here's to it

I made it home.  Frost on the roof tops.  What a difference from when I left.  Hot and arid and return to the fashionably late arrival of Fall.  Today I think in celebration of Fall I will make myself a delicious apple crisp.  Time to put away some of summer garb and  sort through the long sleeve tops and blouses.  Fall, a season I enjoy for the short time it stays.  Here, mostly two seasons to the year, Hot and Cold, so best to enjoy these lovely autumnal days.
I celebrate the change, as changes make life interesting.

Coincidence that the month and the name of this fairy are the same on this first day of June. I like coincidences, makes me sit up and take notice. Coincidences we are told, is the Universe giving us a hint or a suggestion to pay attention.  So June is supposed to be a really good month and I am looking forward to it.  Crazy that the year is almost half over and I have not shook the Winter's weariness.  Some music and sunshine are the subscriptions for today.  The Four of Wands is all about getting outside and enjoying the day and ourselves.  Sounds lovely to me.

Sometimes we all need to step away from our day to day live to gain a little perspective.  I feel like I am in a bit of a rut.  Just a few months doing inside sales feels is beginning to be repetitive and a bit monotonous.  This morning I am getting ready to head to a continuing education class and wondering just how many more do I plan on doing before hanging the license?
If I step away and see my work a day life, another would say I have it made.  Don't have to clock in, with the flexible somewhat self-assigned schedule I have.  What's the gripe?  Maybe none, just need to step away from it all for a bit to look at things from a different observation point.

First Sight

Love at first sight? You betcha.  Happened to me once, many years ago.  I can still remember the moment that has freeze-framed in my mind.  My breath caught, heart stammered, a high-whine in my ears, and time stopped for a brief instant.  The cascading rush of sensation was overwhelming.  Nothing much came of it, but what a rush for the time it lasted. A soul mate possibly, to meet up in another life.
Now as I am older Love at First Sight, can be the flash of a hummingbird, the joy in a loved-one's face, a melody first heard, rainbows, trees, summer rain, winter's snow.  I tell my nieces and nephews that they are the loves of my life, they too were love at first sight.

Counting Up!.  Yesterday Three of Wands and today the Four. 
Looks like these beach goers have come together to make magic. From their song and dance a new energy emerges and bursts forth. 
I find it interesting that the energy beams have a shadow on the sand and not the dancers.  Maybe they are mer-people out having a moon dance before returning to their watery world.  Sometimes a mystery cannot be solved and I am meant to just enjoy the beauty and magic of the moment. 
Ahh to live in that moment of unbridled joy.

This depiction of the Four of Wands brought to mind the TV show KUNG FU.  As a young initiate Kwai Chang had a lesson to 'walk the rice paper.'  "Walk the rice paper as softly as you can and when you can without tearing it your steps will not be heard."
This is a success worth acknowledging to oneself.
Practice might make perfect, but being at one with yourself and the world around you is true harmony.

Best laid plans

Something is just wrong here.

Best laid plans of mice and men (and rabbits) often go awry.  The rabbit hutch has been built too small.  I can make all kind of plans and often they don't work out; like this rabbit hutch.  Someone built a structure thinking baby bunnies and got the giant sized version.  Sometimes we draft or make plans and they take a long while to get started and longer to finish and once completed the person or project is so different from the original point of projection, the design no longer works. Who I am today is different than when I started this year and by year's end, even a bit more changed. 
Before I make long term plans of a sort, best to consider if I truly think if they will work me 1-5 years down the road?

Things don't happen overnight.

Nothing like a job well done.  It took a lot of time and energy to get to harvest.  Some people only see the finish product, the end result and don't realize all that went into that cup of mead.  Plant a tree, grab the apple, squeeze press, and ferment, ta-daa, you get apple wine.  Not so fast.  There are blights, late frosts, droughts, worms, lack of help at picking time...  Raise a glass and remember to think about everything that took to get the juice in the cup.

Deep in four territory

I drew a pair of fours today; holding tight to each other they presented themselves.  There is a lot of contrast in these two cards, and yesterday the fourth major, the Emperor was the draw.  I remember Sharyn drawing fours just recently and I wonder what all the fours are about.  Something to think on.
Are we in the roaring teens similar to the roaring twenties a century ago, and collapse is imminent?

Lovely when things come together and work out for the best.
2017 is at it's close, and though I had some issues, for the most part it was a good year.  Finishing out visiting a few clients in their new homes today and tomorrow.  Instead of apples and pears I am going to stop by local supermarket and purchase a couple bags of oranges and offer them as gifts.  In Chinese Astrology, oranges are symbols of prosperity and as a token on New Years day, if one rolls them across the threshold into their home, you are welcoming abundance, goodwill, and prosperity into your home and life.  In addition they are really good to eat and all that vitamin C is a bonus.
