Practice makes perfect
Very few are born endowed, gifted with extraordinary talent or genius. Even those that are have to practice and define their skill set. The gift I have is the gift of gab, makes me perfect for sales and yet after being a sales person for so many years it has long since lost any glamour for me. I see many new faces in the field all afire with wide eyed enthusiasm for their new careers and I wonder how long before it wears on them and then I wonder about those really gifted ones if this too becomes an issue. Do our careers become just another way to put money on our tree?

About 10 years ago I volunteered at Senior Games that were held in Louisville. The event planner offered me a job of my gift of gab, I had to pass; it was the ole frying pan and into the fire kind of thing.
DeleteYour post reminds me of a few of my artist friends. They love to create, until they have to crank it out like a factory. The joy gets lost in that kind of work.
