Medicine bags are often small pouches worn beneath clothing with items private, personal, and perhaps spiritual in nature.
At first I thought this might be a bag the Fool would carry about, but the booklet indicates that medicine bags were worn out of sight. I carry a purse and don't know that I would call it a medicine bag, though there are a couple of stones, coins, and ibruprofen rolling around at the bottom. So I wonder what secret and personal items do I keep about me to help me identify myself?

Do you keep any touchstones with you? Little reminders that keep you grounded or make you smile?
ReplyDeleteI keep one of my painted rocks in my pocket most days.
DeleteI don't carry around stones etc. but your post inspires me to give such a little bag some thought. It could be a nice challenge to gather meaningful items which don't weigh too much.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carolyn 💙
Little secret keepsakes.
DeleteI have a medicine bag, made for me by a Cherokee medicine woman. All I could ever think to put in it was a cat whisker I found on the stairs.
ReplyDeleteThis year I have started a little collection of things found here and there. A solider man-little green plastic man, feather, coins, a screw, a small rubber duck, match box car, a pretty rock, a key. Don't know what I will do with them. Maybe a medicine bag for found little treasures.
DeleteOn the other hand I have many times but a quilt block in my bra and/or worn buttons in the form of jewelry in times of high stress. I actually count buttons as personal totems.
ReplyDeleteTreasured tokens, all.
