Another sword card to add to the collection this week. My mind has been a bit in overdrive this week. I have not slept well most nights with constant flickering thoughts.
Once years ago I was out later in the evening rehanging my hummingbird feeders. I was bent over the banister of the deck placing one of the feeders when there, right in front me, meandering through, was a great big skunk. I froze, not a hairs breath of movement from me. Not even batting an eyelid in case some movement from me alerted the striped beauty to my presence. I waited for him to move on through not wanting to initiate some odoriferous retaliation for startling him.
Today I best pay attention to any stray thought and think twice before speaking my piece/peace if someone crosses my path.

Perhaps I have always known everything important but will need a lifetime to discover what I know. Tarot and Oracles offer me guides and sign posts to help me along my way.

You are really wise to look closely at those stray thoughts instead of just letting them loose and giving them free rein. The wagon follows the ox it's hitched to, and the only way to stop or turn the wagon is to rein in the ox.
ReplyDeleteWith twenty years in direct sales I have learned to hold my tongue. A discipline that does not set well with me. I want to say what I want to say. It is my rising sign in Sagittarius that blurts things out. And studying Chinese philosophy I have discovered my sign is the Monkey, so chattering is dominant feature for me.
DeleteOh this unending stream of fleeting and sometime obsessive thoughts can be so exhausting. "Rein in the ox", as Bev says.
ReplyDeleteI have begun meditating again and even after several days I can notice a (slight) difference in the behavior of my ox. :)
I have tried meditation this week and my Monkey mind will not be stilled.

ReplyDeleteI have never heard the term 'dammit dolls' I had to look it up. That's one way to get something out your system!
